I don't think it's that long, I've heard a 4-8 week quote before (30 to 60 days). I bet anything if you call back and get someone else to talk to, they'll tell you another time frame.

90 days is a typical NVC and USCIS response. It takes between 1-2 weeks. If you take a look at your I-130 approval, then you will notice that USCIS is asking to contact NVC, if NVC does not receive the case within 90 days after the approval. Usually, it takes about 2 weeks for NVC to receive the approved petition from USCIS.

Edited by simple_male

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

They told me 4-6 weeks. I haven't called back yet. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I called the embassy and they have access to NVC data base. They told me all about our case by using my last name. They also told me we were approved July 28 and it just takes a couple of days for the NVC to forward most cases. They even gave me our new NVC number.

Just so you know you don't have to wait on the phone on hold to see if they received you case. You can just choose the option 1 and it walks you through entering your original case receipt number and it will tell you if they have received the case or not.
