Ummm, maybe another stupid question!

Julez, I am not pathetic. First of all, Julian has contributed so much to this thread that I think I should ask him for his opinion on this. Second, I value his opinion very highly. If he thinks I could benefit from hearing more advice here, then I will keep it open. I think being able to communicate with your partner is really important, and listening to what he has to say is part of that.

Maven, I will call you later. :)

I'm sorry Melissa, but I have to agree with Julez. You managed to buy a Porsche without asking Julian, why not make your own decision over this? It's your thread not his.

Not to mention the fact that your initial stupid question was answered long ago. I think tmma might be right - you are reveling in all this attention. Could that be because you don't get enough attention from your philandering coke-head fiance?

And good point bako! I guess after making such a huge decision independently with such a harsh reaction, Melissa is not required to consult Julian before she so much as farts.

I realize this is all a bit unbelievable, but IMO it'd be a good idea for Melissa to feel she can come here for support.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

I'm not saying she should do one thing or the other. Just that she should do what's best for HER. If having a support network is important to her then asking Julian for his opinion might be a bad idea. He seems to think we're all unhelpful and interfering.

Anyway, I have been away for a while. I'm finding it difficult to see what people are finding so fascinating about her blog.

Alex sounds like a giant gaping a$$hole. And it's clear he's in love with Julian.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they snort coke off each other's arses?

I was about to ask where Julian is, but then I realised -- Friday night before a Bank Holiday weekend. Probably out scoring more "flour".

Edit to add: yes, he may very well be in love with them both.

I'm going to agree with Johnny here. Look, Melissa needs all the help she can get. I'm trying, but I'm only one person. I didn't mean to step into this mess but I did, and since I'm only ten miles away it's probably for the best that I keep up with her. Julez, Muffin, bakofoil -- all of you are friends, REAL LIFE friends of mine. I know this is hard to believe, but imagine this was ME posting about being a bloody idiot, excusing outrageous behaviour my husband was indulging in. Would you support me? Or pile on?

Melissa IS complicit in all of this -- I will not excuse her. But she needs support right now. I regret my comment about scoring blow in the last post now. I could remove it, but I won't.

I think Julien and Alex are gay. I'm allowed to have that opinion. :P

In all seriousness I did have some sympathy for Melissa a little while ago but now I think she deserves all she gets. She should dump her homosexual fiance and move on with her life. From everything I've read from her so far (here and her blog) he doesn't exactly seem to make her very happy.

ETA. If this were about you Maven things would be very different because you are my friend in real life. Melissa isn't.

Well, honestly Maven, I would be more sympathetic if I saw her defending you against Julian's version of the facts given that you are offering her your undivided support in person.

However, for you, I will be supportive.

Muffin, I have sent you a PM about this. I'd rather keep this between us. Everyone else -- I am not secretly telling Muffin Julian is gay!

bakofoil -- Melissa DOES need your support. Personally, I'm baffled too why she isn't standing up for me to Julian but I will keep trying. I know he hates me and sees me as a bad influence on her (or so his PM the other day said -- I know I can't paste PM contents, but suffice to say I was called some choice epithets and told he could see why my husband had abandoned me -- classy!).

I'll just say this. This only makes me feel more angry about this situation. If your support comes in the form of helping her stand up to a misogynistic ignorant bully then I'm with you. Otherwise, forget it. That behaviour is unacceptable from both of them and as your friend I cannot support it. Sorry.
