I'm looking forward to the days when I can watch TV channels or content from all over the world. It's possible now with satellite but it's very hectic to set up. I care for lots of Asian TV channels.

Well Poo - no Johnny Vegas...

Have been finding other tv series though, so I'm happy.

So Sad Teknolust is not on the Wii side, though. I do like to watch the DVD, turn ON the director's comments - gives a totally different viewing experience, IMO.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I don't have Netflix, but was curious how the quality via the Wii is. Doesn't it look pretty terrible on a big screen hdtv?

Good point. I think the Wii is only capable of 480p. Ouch.

480 to 720 HD isn't too bad- the level of graininess didn't interfere with viewing all that much. As long as you're not expecting a movie theater experience, it sure is nice to be able to kill some extra time in case the DVDs haven't arrived yet.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Booming Demand for TV on the Internet in China

Published: July 18, 2010

SHANGHAI — Internet TV has arrived in China.

Every month, about 300 million people in China are using a computer to watch Chinese TV dramas, Japanese and Korean sitcoms, and even American films and television series like “Twilight” and “Gossip Girl.” Live streaming of the recent World Cup also drew a huge online audience.

Analysts say young people in China are even starting to favor free laptop-viewing over TV sets, in part as a way to make an end run around regulators, who often bar state-run TV networks from broadcasting shows that do not meet the approval of the Communist Party......

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

I had a lot of interuptions in the streaming video for some reason with the same wii and Internet connection. It's stangely went away when I signed up for unlimited 3 rentals/mo again.

I'm on the 1 out at a time plan and I stream HD content constantly without anything other than occasional/fleeting issues. The problem could have been caused by a temporary issue with your internet connection, or perhaps the Netflix streaming server you were connected to had some temporary issues as well. If you were watching from a wireless connection, that could certainly explain any problems you may have seen - wifi is a lot more complex that most people know and it really isn't a good choice for streaming video.

We had no interruptions with the Wii streaming, it was fine, and we just cut back to one bluray per month instead of 2. However, Wii isn't HD, and we just bought a new laptop with a 1080p hdmi card, and the streaming is in HD, it is wonderful (just hook the HDMI cable up to the HD TV)... The laptop supports full 7.1 audio through the hdmi, but I'm too lazy to hook it up to our Yamaha sound system for watching 30Rock only ;)

Dave-

Did you check the Wii's options for any available updates? On top of the installation disk they sent out that is.

But yes, most video streaming glitches are burps with the internet connection.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Dunno if you knew - if something is available on Netflix's website, you can put it into your queue. Your queue can be displayed on Wii so you are not limited to what Wii has available by "default".

Best wishes! :)
