Until things get straightened out I'd fill out a DS 160 also. Hopefully you paid the $131 to BDO and have the receipts.

i don't think it matters whether you pay or fill it out first. the person from the embassy call center said that i can pay at bdo at least 3 working days before my interview. you need it cos the ds-160 prints out a barcode with the form that they will check when you go to the embassy for your interview.

"3. The Confirmation page with the bar coded confirmation number of the nonimmigrant electronic visa application form DS-160 that was completed at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/. The Confirmation page with the bar coded confirmation number needs to be presented for each applicant."

-this was stated at the appointment confirmation letter email i got

you can download it to website DS-160 and pay it to BDO( procesing fee) 2-3 days before your interview $131 for K1 visa you just need the reciept (blue and white)
