Isn't it the best feeling, ever? lol. Congrats! good.gif

Oh my! JEALOUS! I'd love to go surf there! Is the weather good over there at the moment? Enjoy yourself!

You need to bring your passport with visa and have both of those photocopied. I'm going to bring pictures just in case but the VJ friends of mine who went to PRISM said that they weren't asked for it. Also, take note of the maiden name of your husband's mom. I'll inform you once I finally take my CFO.

Toni

Hi TONI!

Be goin to CFO on 1st week of August. We are here in Siargao Island in Surogao now enjoying the waves, it's really fun, big waves so cool for surfing. Please let me know what are the requirements that I need to bring on CFO ok? Thanks Toni! Congrats again guys!

i just want to congratulate all of you on the wonderful results you are getting!

i am a newcomer to this site and have been finding A LOT of helpful info!

here is my delimma:

I am a divorced(since 1998) single mother of a disabled 10 year old girl..she is on SSI..

while attending to her needs..i left my own health on the back burner and i have been on Disability supplimented by SSI..and my doctor wont release me for work...YET..i have been begging for more than a year now

i am getting much healthier tho and its nothing life threatening at all

My sweetheart is younger than me...he is Canadian..we have known eachother for a few years and became very serious early 2009

he came to be with us January 2010 and stayed 3 weeks(was supposed to be only 2 weeks but an ice/snow storm stranded him longer)..he went home to Canada February

I am now in Canada visiting with him and his family..have been here since June 14..my daughter and i go home August 3, my fiance has round trip tickets to come home with me for about 4 or 5 weeks then he goes back home to Canada

we got officially engaged at Niagara Falls and are very happy together...just cant stand being apart

anyways he has had the same job since about 2004..

sorry foe the long story

what i am confused about is the I-864

my income is only about just over $1600 yearly with monthly income of about $1350 between me and my daughter...and my childhood best friend/roommate only has about $680 monthly(i believe hers is SSI due to a shunt in her head from a gunshot wound years ago)

i dont make friends easily so i dont know alot of people that would have income 125% over poverty level...and i know my parents dont make that much..my brother is questionable but he does have a steady job driving an 18wheeler across country

any input on this would be so greatly appreciated...

you all seem so wonderful and helpful of eachother

it seems everything will go smoothly except for this Affidavit of Support thing..

also...how many co-sponsors can someone have?..is it possible to have several?

just wondering

please help!

Thank you, Cymoril! Everyone is welcome here! good.gifI'm sorry to hear about your daughter but I'm glad to hear about the improvement of your health. I assume that you're at the beginning of your journey, right? What you need for the Affidavit of Support is an I-134. The I-864 will be used when you file for the AOS in the States. As the petitioner, your gross income has to be 125% above the mandated poverty line. You have to calculate yours according the household size. You can only have one cosponsor so choose someone who earns enough in order to prove that your fiancé won't be of public charge.

Are you applying for a K-1 visa? It's the I-134. Maybe you have a special case. I have no idea. I've never encountered this before. My fiance filed for the I-134 and we're going to file the I-864 once I get to the States. I wish you the best! I hope you find a suitable one. I know how it feels to apart from your soul mate. This too shall pass. biggrin.gif

HI CYMORIL,

I suggest to call the embassy again on what you should file. Toni and Me have the same case, we filed I-134A for K1 visa application. Maybe you should call them AGAIN and make it clear. Just leave us message after you talk to the Embassy.

Maybe the requirements are different at the American Embassy in Canada. You should post your question in the Canada forum. The good people in that forum will be able to answer your question. Good luck with your visa journey.

HI TONI!

How you doin? Busy packing up? Ready for US? LOL

Anyway have u been for CFO seminar? How is it? Is there any fee to pay? Requirements? Thanks girl. Were still here in Surigao but be in Manila in 2 days.

Sherryl

Hey guys! I called the Embassy and Ms.Bella told me that my visa was approved on July 13. Thanks for all the support! good.gif The blue slip wasn't so devastating after all. It's the wait that incites paranoia.

Good luck to the rest who has yet to hear the news.

Sherryl, where are you going to get your CFO? Wanna go together?

Hey Sherryl! Not quite as busy as I thought I would be. lol. The only thing I've been doing is shopping. lol. I left you a comment on your profile. I posted the link to my blog. It's on my signature as well. I wrote down my experience at PRISM. I'm going to CFO today since I was so tired after the seminar yesterday. Read it, I listed everything down. Good luck and I hope you enjoyed Surigao! good.gif

whatever is stamped on that letter is when you go....cant really say how long it is but for us; the disposition date that was stamped was a week later from when we got the letter....

Hello everyone. I have been viewing this site for some time now while waiting for my fiance's visa but we recieved a denial letter after a long and drawn out process(evidence of sustained income, etc). My question is -- If we are allowed a disposition, is the date and time supposed to be on the bottom of the denial letter, or do we recieve another letter because i see two scenarios at the bottom of our letter, but none of them are checked. Do we have a chance at a disposition? If anyone has any info that would be great. Thanks.

I understand why I got denied because I work on a cash basis as an independent contractor, and it is next to impossible to prove my income until the end of the year when I claim it on my taxes. I just started this job in January and I gave them all the evidence I could come up with. I am above the 125% poverty line and I have a co-sponsor!

Can they just not give us an opportunity to dispute their ruling? I am an American citizen dont I have rights? Theres a nasty beaurocrat in the Manila embassy who is calling the shots and creating their own laws.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've spent thousands of dollars and hours of time, and I fear that I may have to get married over there and start the whole process over again with a spousal visa. This is killing us...

My fiancé isn't on the payroll so the evidence I presented were weekly checks in his name. Can't you show them a 1099? Did you show them last year's Tax Returns? You can include supporting financial documents displaying your assets in order to further build your case. Provide the consul with documents like stock investments, bank accounts, properties owned and such to prove that your lady is far from being of public charge. I don't know if I gave you anything to work on but I'll talk to Jordan in the morning and see what he thinks. Hang in there, bigdorado! smile.gif
