I used a lawyer to do the petition and everything has gone well so far.

I just received (web) the NoA2, waiting on the hard copy at this time.

The only problem is that i lost one of the jobs i had when i put my application, lowering my income.

I have a friend that offered me to be a co sponsor with me since she owns a few business and have a great income.

I just consulted with my lawyer and he told me that i cannot use a co sponsor for a K1 visa.

IS that true?

Why are we not allowed to use a co sponsor?

Now i am so worry!!

NoA1 02/22/10

NoA2 (web) 05/18/10

She is from Thailand, Bangkok area.

BKK does not allow co-sponsors... it is even indicated as such on the consulate website

YMMV

hi!!! You know what, just let your fiance go through the interview. Coz with my case, I am the one being petitioned and my fiance then also had a low income. I got to the interview and the consule said that my fiance did not meet the required income and asked for a co sponsor and so after a week i was able to go back and showed them the additional documents and i was approved! and without knowing the person who took my additional documents told me that i am very lucky because the US embassy in the Philippines dont asks for co sponsor but since the consule asks for it then they will accept it.. and here i am in the states! married and happy with my husband :)so just pray and there must be a way for you to be together :)

In general the Bangkok Embassy does not accept Joint sponsors unlike most other Embassies/Consulates. There was a posting about this issue a week or two ago from a student that had his fiancee going through Bangkok. There was an excellent response written by a Thai fiancee now in the US and married about how she was aware of two cases where the US Embassy allowed a joint sponsor. In both cases the USC was a student finishing up University level studies.

There is a Thai thread called Sawasdee 3 here at VJ under K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures but I do not think you will get many responses. I do not know anyone in there using a joint sponsor so I do not know how much previous experience you will get.

Try asking your fiancee to join www.usvisa4thai.com and post a question asking about experiences with joint sponsors at Bangkok.

I think you need to increase your income.

Good luck
