I have heard the Queen's Birthday is somewhat like Mother's Day in Thailand.

In September there will be Labor Day.

Queen's birthday is mother's day. King's birthday is father's day. Unfortunately, at the Embassy you get double screwed. They get to take both country's holidays off. Labor day there is May 1st like the rest of the world, and they also get US labor day off if you are an Embassy employee. Nice work if you can get it I guess. :)

We just finished AOS and my countdown to ROC is almost 21 months; seems like nothing.

The calculation I made was the GC approval date + 2 years minus 3 months to be within

the 90-day window for filing.

I put the countdown on a ticker to remind me. To be sure I'm within the 90 days I pushed

the "OK to apply for ROC" date a few days forward.

it does go very quickly! i can't believe my husband has been back in the u.s. 3 years already (11 july). it's crazy if we hadn't delayed our i-485 we would planning for citizenship right now. but this time next year i will be griping about the final step.

ROC Timeline

18 NOV 2010 Sent 1.8lb packet to USCIS in Laguna Niguel (day 1)

Looks like those of us waiting for an interview date were a little bit screwed due to a holliday this month. August 12th, a Thursday, is Her Majesty The Queen's Birthday

No interviews were scheduled that day so that's a good 15 or 16 interviews lost for the month of August.

Bad news. Looks like its worse than that. Not only is the holiday hurting August, but overall, they are scheduling much less interviews in the month of August as compared to June and July. They are 58% LOWER than the previous 2 months.

If you look at the data

August: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/ivschedule080210.pdf

July: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/ivschedule070210.pdf

June: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/ivschedule060210.pdf

You'll note that there are only 5 pages in August, but June and July have 9 and 10.

To see it visually, check this graph out:

Very disheartening...

I was just bored and looking at the interview list for August. Had a ####### moment. BNK2010630001 is listed there 4 times for the same date and same hour.....??? BNK20100611006 is listed 3 times for the same day and same hour....??? I could go on with this, there's a few others like that on every page.

Just looked at previous month schedules and same thing. Anyone knows why they do that?

Do they take the Thai holidays as well as the US holidays too? Sounds like a great gig if you can get it!! I'd love

to work at the embassy in BKK or Chiang Mai after I retire....again!!

Hey Jordi, that is kind of strange. I had not noticed that before.

My fiancee told me today that she read on usvisa4thai that one girl received a phone call from the Embassy for a September 2 interview date and another lady received a call for September 4th interview. I am getting "noi jai mak mak."

Hi Ryan, I will talk to my fiancee either Friday morning if her computer is working or Friday late afternoon when I call her every morning her time. I realized after the post that the 2nd and 4th are Thursday and Saturday.

Normally we do numbers in Thai when we talk, like she still says she sent "Packet som" because som = 3. So maybe she messed up her numbers in English. I will also ask her to find out when the Packet 3s were sent.

She says she read a June 25 or 26 send date of Packet 3 resulted in an interview of August 27.

That is because I was so fed up with all the papers required to put together and the red shirt crisis and a melt down at work as we were taping out the chip, so that area is a point in time I prefer not to think about.

Cool! Thanks so much Rob! Hey, that's good news for you.... If you sent your packet in on June 29th, then your interview shouldn't be too much after August 27th!

Though, I'm still very concerned that the month of August has less than 1/2 the interviews in either June or July. If that trend continues, it's going to REALLY back things up.

Near the beginning of 2009 the US embassy came to a screeching halt in issuing interview dates. We waited about five weeks and people began receiving interview dates. The thing is that they had sent their I-129f and packet 3 after ours. I wrote an email to the embassy asking how come since the embassy said that they issue interviews in the order received. My fiancé received her appointment email less than a day later.
