Teaw went to the embassy today... and said SHE GOT THE VISA

That's great, man. Very happy for you!

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teaw went to the embassy today, Monday, to see why they tried to call her Friday. So she got to the embassy about 1:30, got in by showing them on her phone that they tried to call. He sent her back out while he checked her case, then called her back in and said SHE GOT THE VISA and told her to wait out front until 3pm. So at that time they called her back in and gave her the packet and visa and she went outside and called and woke me to tell me. She said 3 AP cases got visas yesterday.

So now the planning starts as I have to see when I can get off work for two weeks to go over and get her, spend time in Buriram with the family and move some of her stuff back up there.

Now I can finally rest easy and quit worrying when they will get off their butts.

Yes Laddawan passed her interview and will pick up her visa on the 22nd. Sorry took so long to post but had to buy her plane ticket and etc. She will be flying here on the 26th. As for the interview she said she had no problems at all and had the american lady giving her the interview and said she was very nice. We were both worried as I only made one trip to Thailand but our evidence was very heavy and it finally paid off. Thanx guys now the countdown begins to her arrival

Congratulations Tom! It seems that you've been through more grief to get your approval than anyone that I've seen on this forum so if anyone deserves some good news it's you. I hope that Teaw appreciates everything you did and that the two of you get along once she's stateside. I know you don't want to try this a third time

Thanx everyone for all your kind words. Laddawan will be flying from Bkk to London with a 4 hour layover, then on to Houston. So her POE will be good ole Houston...I can wait..... just 1 week untill her arrival!!!!

Thanks all. I am sure Teaw will do just fine here. She is happy and excited and a little scared but she is also looking forward to no longer working 12 hour night shifts!!! Although I told her she would have to put in a couple hours at night and then she could sleep....

So now I am waiting to hear when I can get off work and get over there. Might not be until early Sept which would bum me out.

Watch out for homesickness. Ann works in biotech and had traveled all over the world before she met me, so she had a lot of experience with other cultures. Her personality is not very "Thai" in terms of most things. She's not especially religious. She didn't live with her parents. But even then, she was very homesick for a few months. I have even seen cases in which things didn't work out because of it, so be careful.

We have had many discussions about missing her family and she knows she will...but we also plan on going back in Dec for two weeks and having the ceremony for her family at the village. Our courthouse shuts down for two weeks over Christmas so it's a prefect time to go over. And she has set up her half-brother with her desktop computer and a modem so she can email them and I told her she can call them when she wants to. There are also some Thai ladies at the restaurant where I eat that said they will take her shopping and stuff so that will be good for her too. But I am sure she will have periods of missing them a lot but hopefully having discussed it a lot she will be ready for it and be okay knowing she will see them in Dec again.

I was concerned about this as well, but the opposite seemed to happen. My wife had only been out of Thailand for 3 days to Singapore before she came here. She went with me on a business trip there. She stayed in the hotel the first 2 days. 3rd day I gave her some cash and told her to go buy something. I got back to the hotel and she was all bent out of shape because she bought an expensive shirt, then got back to the hotel, looked at the tag and it said "Made in Thailand."

Anyway this last trip we took back to Thailand for Songkran, she really didn't seem to want to go. I was the one that pushed it. Of course once she got there and saw the family etc., she had a blast. I think she didn't want me to spend the money.

Embassy got her packet 3 more than 2 weeks ago and we're still waiting to get the date.....

@gbagbo Thought I would let you know I emailed the Embassy Tuesday morning July 20 in Thailand time. I gave them our information and the date they received Packet 3. They confirmed they received Packet 3 July 1. They said they are very backed up on scheduling and have not scheduled her interview yet. They said it is taking 8-10 weeks from receipt of Packet 3 to schedule the interviews. Then they will mail her the interview date.

I do not really think it will be 8-10 weeks just to get the interview date scheduled based on what Audy told me she has been reading on usvisa4thai. I thought it would be 4-6 weeks to schedule and the interview would be schedule about 2 weeks out.
