Groovy, Kari!!!

Not just the employees of Central World but all the other places the idiots burned and the jobs lost there. I guess they don't really care about all of their countrymen they have hurt by

destroying their jobs and all the other damage they have done that has to be paid for by who? The people of Thailand!! It is unfortunate that a certain number of people would do that. I

firmly believe that any person or company caught funding the red shirts during the protest should be stripped of everything they have to pay for all the damage and loss of jobs!!

Hope all your stuff arrives okay, audy_rob!! Keep your toes crossed!!

I was thinking exactly the same, take the money from all those rich leaders and use it to fix what was destroyed on the protests and mob behavior as much as possible.

My heart is broken for all the damage done to the city i love.

LOL I’m actually this way before I met my husband and that’s the reason he loves me. But yea, I’ve been like this since I was young, so I was not westernized, I’m 100% Thai with some strong personality that many people attribute to be a western value.

Let me explain though.. I’ve always have a strong and confident look by Thai standard but with my US friends/ colleague they all say I’m oh so sweet. I’m also independent (all of my friends comment on this). I respect elder but I don’t take ####### if they are wrong, I’ll let them know (will get me in deep trouble in Thai company but not so much here). I’m always on time and even before time and I cant stand being late. My husband and I are equal, actualy I'm pretty faminist. I’m not at all a jealous person so he can be out with his friends and I don’t mind one bit. I wont let people spend money on me (I paid half of my baby shower my friends throw for me, couldn’t let her pay everything) and even my Thai friends’ husbands said they never know anybody (Thai) who insisted to pay for their own meal when I went for my friend’s baby shower (don’t get me wrong, I love free stuff but I don’t like to take advantage of people). I’m bragging!! Lol. So living here or in Thailand wont change me one bit, only living here I’m more blended and not so stand out but more so in Thailand where everybody’s a lot more polite than meblush.gif

Sawasdee Khap Kuhn Anya-Dear,

I think you and my wife must be twins  She also a force of nature, and it doesn't matter if she's in Thailand or the USA

Blessings to you!

Yea, my fiancee is always on time too. THAI time which is ALWAYS 30 minutes to 2 hours LATE!!! It makes me angry but I can't change her - nor would I want to. It is easier to tell her she needs to be ready 30 minutes earlier than I really need her ready or for meeting somewhere.

Hi Mark,

I've always admire the way you talk about your wife and so I also admire her as well. I'm sure she's sweeter than me from the way you described her (long time ago). she's a lucky women, and you a lucky guy!

Yea, my fiancee is always on time too. THAI time which is ALWAYS 30 minutes to 2 hours LATE!!! It makes me angry but I can't change her - nor would I want to. It is easier to tell her she needs to be ready 30 minutes earlier than I really need her ready or for meeting somewhere.

lol, when i was in High School, my group usually huang out during weekend. They would agree to meet at 11 am, I tried not to be there at 11 knowing they were going to be late so I was there at 11.15, they came at 12.30-1pm.. their excuse? they know other people would show up around 12 so they took that time as a meeting time then they were late to their meeting time so they were 1.30 to 2 hrs late.. I was so MAD!!!

I dont have a Thai clock though, I wish I could relax to be late but I couldnt and ended up most of the time be the first to the party and stuff (many time I ended up having to sit in the car waiting for the time or other people to arrive). But it's actually good for my career smile.gif

There's nothing wrong with Thai time when you are used to it and know how to handle it (I learn to live with it since I cant change my freinds too).

I wont be sweet like Anya. Arisman, Thaksin, and the rest of his ilk need to be shot on sight. The Embassy will not be open for awhile. Downtown Bangkok is destroyed. Getting a police report isn't going to happen for awhile.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if the US embassy opens in a week, I'll be shocked.

Yeah, I was just down there. No way they can open. The area is destroyed and is not safe. Still some sniper issues.

Rajprasong looks like it was nuked. (Tactical nuke maybe, but a 1000 pound conventional warhead would not have done that much damage. )

The police station was being used as a Red Shirt detention camp.

On another topic, check this guy. Usually has to be an American tourist to be this stupid while completely sober:

Laugh. I saw that bonehead on another video a few days ago. I think he's angling for a free ticket to Dubai. I cant wait to see what happens to him when he goes through passport control at the airport. A few years in Bang Kwang should cure him of his "radical" views. Gotta love Saeng Som fueled idiot farangs.

And look what just now popped up in the news:

Looks like he might get an extended stay here courtesy the Thai government! Not going to be able to get through immigration now. Frankly, he'll be lucky if the police catch him. If the locals get him first, he'll be torn to pieces.

Well, there are always idiots looking for a little celebrity status. I hope the authorities find him and give him the once over. Maybe that will cure him.

I got hauled of to the Lat Phrao police station once. They wanted me to sign a confession. I refused. They showed me the 5X8 foot cell with ten Thais in there. I signed it right away after seeing that. I gave the cops a bottle of Johnny Walker Black, and I was given a free ride back to my apt. on the back of a police motorbike.

They'll find this guy. They probably already have.

Sorry to interrupt the thread for a moment. If Richard or Ryan stop by I thought they would want to know the K Visas have officially gone to $350.00 for applications (interviews???) on or after June 4.

The ones that threw the firebombs DID have jobs; they were PAID

to do that so the one(s) responsible for them being paid

should be held as accountable for terrorist crimes as they are.

As there is a fine line between "civil" and "political" crimes,

many will slip through the cracks in the ensuing judicial procedures.

One of my wife's reactions was "don't worry, they're insured,"

but there is also the price of insurance for the construction

projects that will attempt to repair the damage. Once the

construction has been completed, there will be HUGE premiums

for any of those sites because of the past history.

When I came to Thailand back in 2005 and we went to Phuket,

I was very impressed by the speed of the reconstruction and

the good humor of the survivors in that area. That was in

April 05. When something like a Tsunami hits it's a freak act

of nature, not something likely to be repeated again so

there was a lot of motivation to rebuild quickly. I'm not so

sure about this time around, but the people of Thailand

have most often surprised me in positive ways and I am

hopeful for that in the future.
