sawasdee ka! well i am just back in the u.s. was supposed to go to thailand for a few weeks but due to the uncertainty i went home instead. had a good visit with my family and even found a couple folks i know from thailand there. glad to be back stateside though.

congrats to those that have made it through the interview!!!!! best of luck to those up soon.

any word on anya and new baby? i would think she has delivered by now hope all are doing well.

**side note anyone's thai s.o. not particularly interested in vistiting home? my husband has not been home for 3 years and not really interested in visiting. i wonder if it's because he actually has his best friend and a few others from his home town within 30mins drive of us. i have been back every year but he says meh...not really missing his mom/dad or siblings although he does speak to them by phone.

We just visited for Songkran. She had no interest in going at all, which really surprised me. I was the one that wanted to go. Once we were there she had a good time.

Finally got tired of the embassy taking too damn long to get us out of AP so I paid a visit to my Congressman's office across the street. Thankfully I can just walk over there at lunch. Had a nice chat with a senior caseworker and she said they would be more than happy to contact the embassy to get a status on the visa. Told her some of the events and chronology and she said to email her a letter about how the divorce came about with the ex. Teaw went to visit her family in Buriram for a few days and is coming back with a letter from her aunt and her father about meeting me, etc. She said to have Teaw scan and email them to me to include in her email.

She did say that the divorce and visa being done so close together was probably a big red flag to them but it could be any number of reasons other than that or including that. And she said things generally speed up after a Congressional inquiry. So I plan to have it all emailed to her Monday so she can get it off to the embassy Tuesday. My luck they will call Teaw and tell her to come pick up the visa the same day as the email goes out to them but before they get it.

@Tom, yeah but that is a good problem to have. I think this is just the right thing to do.

I think a swift kick in the @$$ will get things moving along. Good luck.

@Those waiting for an interview date. Embassy posted today July 2 the latest appointment list. I only see out to July 29, nothing in August listed. Maybe have to wait until first or second of August for the next update to the appointment list.

My fiancee says for right now, the ladies at usvisa4thai are saying they receive letters from the Embassy about two weeks before the scheduled appointment. That won't give me much advance warning to go and buy a reasonably priced ticket since I want to be there about 4-5 days before the interview.

Yeah, I have a friend who's fiancee has gotten about a week's notice her interview is July 8th. He has gone out and bought a ticket for Sunday and her one for the 17th. I sure hope she gets the visa cause he will be

stuck with her ticket if something happens. But they have had a very long relationship so it probably won't be a problem.

The senior caseworker at the congressman's office emailed me and said she had contacted the DOS. Here is part of what she said: I have called the DOS visa office congressional unit (in DC) to see what information I can gather from that office.

Did not hear back from her but we'll see what that produces. I will be sending her an email Monday with all the stuff she wants to forward with her email to the embassy.

I know. But part of what the caseworker will email them is a letter explaining the chronology of how the marriage happened and how quickly it fell apart and why. So hopefully that will satisfy their curiosity and get them moving.

Happy to say that we are now together in America today! As we changed planes in Tokyo we ran into another Thai Lady who was traveling on a K1 visa and was lost. She had to change planes in Tokyo, Honolulu, and Minneapolis. She also told my Fiancée that she didn't speak any English. I hope she made it to her final destination ok. We helped her the best we could.

The POE was very painless. The Immigration Officer was more interested in my Army career and telling me his life story than Ying entering the country. Have to say that the experience was very easy and we were not inspected at Customs.

As you can expect we are still on Thailand time and busy shopping for those must need items that married couples need.

Laugh. When we came back from Thailand last time the CBP guy kept asking her how much time she spent in China. He finally looked at her passport and said oops you're from Thailand. Then "How much time did you spend in Thailand?"

@TomandTeaw I am also thinking they are giving you a test right now. They want to see if you are willing to wait out the Inquisition or if you will give up. After Teaw's second interrogation when she thought she was just taking in her passport, there really isn't anymore information to consider. They mentioned her cousin in the USA, they grilled Teaw some more. That's it, they finished their AP investigation.

I think it is just a game of wait and see.

@Richardying Your trip through was very fast. I remember when you had just filed the I-129F. Congratulations and good luck. I am going to Thailand for my fiancee's interview and then she needs to wait in Thailand after that so I will return again to bring her back. I do not think she could find her way through the airports alone.

Audy_Rob .....Teaw brought back some letters from her father, aunt and neighbor. The neighbor is the only one that speaks some English. Kari (The Bears) translated them for me and they are such sweet, nice, wonderful letters

that will go with the letter about the divorce that the congressman's caseworker will send next week. That should show them that I have not given up and am anxious to get this thing done!!! I am lucky that she has such a great

family that has so many nice things to say about me and Teaw.

That is good to hear Tom. I hope the COngressman's office will get the Embassy to issue a decision rather than sitting and waiting. Good luck as always.

What's up with Thai hospitals and their record keeping? My fiancée just finished her medical exam today.... She has been in the US before on a student visa and had all her shots done at that time (5 years ago). She went to the same hospital and same doctor but they told her they had thrown away her records so they gave her all the shots again. There's a lot of them she should not have needed, such as the MMR....

Just venting a little bit. Not sure why they don't keep records longer than 5 years.

I guess this is a lesson for all that we make sure they get copies of their records. I had Teaw get copies of her records separate from what the embassy got to make sure we had them for when she is here so the docs

could see what has gone on with her. I wonder about the Thai record keeping also but maybe some of it is not wanting to dig them out or they do just not keep them very long.

One more thing about the medical exam. Five went to get her paperwork later that day and the doctor refused to give her a copy of her xrays. She asked him twice and he said that there was nothing on them so she didn't need them. He told her he's been doing this for 10 years and if she can't get the visa it won't be because she didn't have the xrays with her. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there going to be a problem at the embassy if she doesn't have it? The instructions do say to bring those with her to the interview. I'm not very happy with that doctor and hospital right now. We paid for the xrays and I don't see what's so hard about giving them to her.....
