You said it:

" I have seen "less qualified" people get approvals. Even with Thai girls that worked in the bar"

I questioned your statement.

I have personally seen some people I know get their girls approved even when they worked in the bar. I did not see on visajourney where someone actually posted that they got their girl approved even while working in the bar. I miss read your question and took it as a statement. Sorry.

Wow. I've always been told that if you even mention the word "bar" they will deny the visa.

Somehow they hid it during the interview.

Oh, you meant that you are surprised that they have a rule against former bar girls?

Prostitution is a "crime of moral turpitude". If it is suspected they worked as a prostitute they will not be admitted. They must have had some other story that got them through.

ALIENS INELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE VISAS & INELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION; WAIVERS OF INADMISSIBILLITY

INADMISSABLE/DEPORTABLE

a. Any alien convicted of, or who admits having committed, or who admits the essential elements of a crime involving moral turpitude (other than a purely political offense or an attempt or conspiracy to commit such a crime) is inadmissible.

INA § 212(a)(2)(A)(i).

Wow. I've always been told that if you even mention the word "bar" they will deny the visa.

The DEFINITELY will. Unless the bar was connected to a 5* hotel, or something similar.

No she wont need a transit visa. They do however make you go through security again. Not sure why.

I've always had to go through security (with carry-on only) in Japan when in transit there,

but one time (I think it was 2005) I transited through San Francisco (not a 3rd country admittedly)

but they off-loaded the CHECKED bag and had a manual inspection, followed by another

inspection on my arrival in NYC. I don't know if they still do that now, but I suppose it had

something to do with that being the first time I landed in a US port (regardless of whether

I was a USC or not).

She got the EAD production ordered & AP sent June 16.

Of the two, the AP is more important as she hopes to travel to Thailand in 2 weeks for

her son's university graduation.

I remember my college graduation and I only have a pic with me and my grandmother.

My parents were there but that was the end of the "freaky 60's" and there was a disconnect

with parents to some extent but I would give my eyeteeth for a "do-over" of that day.

Parents & I had no arguments, but nobody was thinking (including me) about getting

the important pic of parents & graduate.

I can see how important it is for her to be there.

Running off at the mouth can certainly hit you where it hurts:

Two foreigners, a Briton and an Australian, have been indicted in Pathumwan District Court for violating the emergency decree while participating in the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) anti-government protest, which ran from March 14 to May 19.

The Australian, Conor David Purcell, 30, and the Briton, Jeff Savage, 49, each face up to two years in jail if convicted.

The prosecution on Thursday brought two, separate, charges against them. They pleaded not guilty.

Since nobody showed up to seek their release on bail, they were sent to Bangkok Remand Prison.

The court is expected to schedule hearings of the cases between August and September.

Quick question, has anyone here had to reschedule their interview with the embassy in bangkok? Is that possible and if yes would we have to pay the $350 again?

Yes, it is possible but please make sure you have it right and do not need to reschedule again. The Embassy will accomodate you for a very valid reason one time, maybe two times (Embassy specific) but do not push it. It is pushed out (further in time, not sooner).

You do not need to pay the $350.00 again.

As a side note to all Thai people. One post office in the province where Audy lives has said the new rate is 11,550 Thai baht. An absolute bargain for bringing over a lovely, warm, caring Thai lady. Anybody know one they could introduce me to???

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there!!!

I miss my daughters every day, not just on fathers day.

They are teenagers but have no idea that I am supporting them.

I like to refer to teenagers as

"space aliens experiencing out-of-body and out-of-mind transmigrations

until they actually have to pay for the stuff they are consuming."

Spock: "this is illogical"

Me: "No, it's just teenagers."

I saw my friend's daughters visit him on the day before Father's day.

A Whopping 10 minutes and his girlfriend and them sneered at each other.

Well, true to form, my youngest sent me her wishes on Facebook!!!! You would think she could at least call me on her cell which is permanently attached

to her body!!! I'll gently scold her when I see her later in the week as tomorrow I am off to California to visit my parents and see her for a few days.
