I use bookingbuddy.com. The last time I bought a ticket it was from onetravel.com All you can do is keep looking at the sites. ASAPtickets.com is decent and gave me the cheapest ticket to the PI when I went in feb. One thing to remember though...their prices DO NOT include taxes when you do the search...so you have to actually call them to find out the end price. Expedia is usually pretty good and includes all taxes in the price of the ticket.

Thanksgiving Day is a good day to fly for both price and low crowds at the airport. Tickets prices drop from January 15th till about the first week in March.

Otherwise, it seems to be a hit or miss on finding low fares.

On the site it says in green that the prices DO include taxes, fees, and applicable surcharges.

The problem comes when you call the number they give you. They route you to independent agents that are affiliated with ASAP. They will likely give you a higher price than what you saw on the site. Be prepared to tell the agent what the green type says on the front of the website...and be prepared to bargain. If they don't give you a good price, tell them you will move to the next agent who will give a good price as stated on the ASAPtickets site.

To get the best rates you should fly domestic to either LAX or SFO, domestic from NY to LA/SFO you can find excellant deals now the LAX to MNL or SFO to MNL will be allot cheaper then trying to go from NY to MNL ;)

Yes the first page before you put the airports that you want to go through DO include taxes....BUT once you put your airport you want to fly out of the next page where it lists the prices DO NOT include taxes. I argued with them and there is a little astrik next to the price on the second page.

When you click on that astrik it comes up with this BS:

The fares displayed do not include taxes and applicable surcharges. Fares shown are for one adult and do not include (a) US Passenger Facility Charges starting at USD 3.00 up to USD 18.00, this fee may apply depending upon your chosen itinerary (b) a Federal Segment Fee of USD 3.60 per flight segment defined as a takeoff and a landing © September 11 Security Fee of USD 2.50 for each flight segment originating at a U.S. airport; it is applicable to all tickets issued on both foreign and US carriers (d) International Departure and Arrival Charges of up to $ 150.00 may apply depending on the itinerary chosen. The fares are subject to seat availability in the corresponding booking inventory. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights and dates. The fares are based on weekday travel (Monday through Thursday). Saturday-night minimum stay is required, and the maximum allowable stay is 30 days. The fares are non-refundable, non-exchangeable, non-reroutable, and non-transferable. All fares and their governing rules are subject to change without prior notice. All fares and their governing rules are subject to change without prior notice. Savings of up to 50% are indicated off the full un-restricted published fares of major scheduled airlines; the discounts vary based on availability, advance notice, minimum stay, maximum stay, travel dates, and black out dates. Other restrictions may apply.

Definitely, the deals come Jan to Mar and from the west coast  Both times that I've flown that direction I used Priceline for the domestic to SFO, then return via LAX and China Air was the cheapest for the international. There's no airline that's going to be the cheapest ALL of the time. You have to shop - PAL, China Air, Delta, etc. The problem with some sites (Expedia, Priceline, etc.) is they don't always give you the lowest prices. It's cheaper a lot of the time if you check the airlines website. My wife's flight next month will be the first one that I've booked straight from the web and only used one place - Expedia. 9 times out of 10, it's cheaper to piece it together yourself :)

Look on craigslist, sometimes a Airline employee is selling buddy passes as a NON-Revenue ticket for a real cheap price

Never thought of that...it would be awesome to find some of those
