Hi all,

I have my husband arriving on a K3 visa, and it says you are supposed to file AOS with Chicago Lockbox (and not your district office). Where can you find the processing dates for this office?

I don't see it on the uscis website, only National Benefits Center or local office...

Thanks.

National Benefits Center and Missouri Service Center and Chicago lockbox are one and the same. Check for their dates. That's where APs and EADs are processed.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Ok, thanks!

So does that mean that the National Benefits Center gives you a priority date? But you follow the dates on your local office?

Or does it sit in Chicago, then get sent to Detroit and THEN gets a notice date? And that is the date you have to follow on the website?

pbgirl,

The Chicago lockbox is little more than an off-site application receiving station for the NBC. They open the application packages, check them for completeness, put them in a file, and send the files to Missouri.

Missouri processes I-131 (not applicable in your case) and I-765 to completion, as kc wrote, they forward the I-485 on to the appropriate District or Sub office when that office is ready. Or, if the adjustment case looks to be approvable without interview, the case may be sent to the CSC to complete processing.

MSC provides processing dates for I-131 and I-765.

I-485 dates are provided by your local office, but they are not accurate at all. Someone told me that they list the dates of the "oldest" case they are adjudicating. In my example, my office showed processing dates for June when I got my interview notice in Jan. So you can't really base anything on I-485 dates.
