I never received an I-797C

Hello,

I received an I-797 appointment notice, but I never received an original I-797C previous to that, document that will allow me to travel. What should I do? Request a copy? Did you ever hear about a similar case?

We never got the notice with the extension. We got our case number from the biometrics appt. notice and scheduled and INFOPASS appt. to get an I-551 stamp in Marlene's passport. The stamp is good for 1 year. We visited The Philippines with just the stamp in the passport after her GC expired and had no problems coming back--although I did let the IO know what page he could look at in her passport for the stamp.

Thanks all for your replies. Do you know the current process time? They received my application on March 24, and on April 16 I had the biometrics appointment. Since then, no news. They didn't even update the status of my case online with the biometrics info — it only says they received my application. I'll need to travel during July and August, and I hope the interview happens either before or after...

...what do you think about rescheduling if the interview falls right when I'm abroad? I've heard mixed things about it. Should I set up an InfoPass and let them know? Thanks.

Actually I'd say "in case they want to interview us, I wish it was before or after..."
