Well i send my Aos packet few days ago with a Copy of the I-797C that said we transferred your case to the honolulu office etc. I know i should have send it in with the I-797C that says receipt but im in CT right now and i accidentally left it at home. so i send a person to my apartment to fax it to me and she send me the wrong one. I called the military line to ask them if it would be a problem and those fools told me they need to speak with my husband. i keep explaining to the fools that my husband is underneath the ocean somewhere and it will be impossible but they didn't care whatsoever. im stuck at home freaking and hoping they don't reject my packet again..

thank you

actually, you should have sent the one that says 'approved' in it. It's called 'NOA-2' at VJ, no USCIS office uses that 'label' for 'which notice you have'. I THINK USCIS refers to it as 'approval notice'..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I don't think they'll reject the packet outright, but you'll probably get an RFE for the missing document. Don't panic. Just wait patiently for the RFE, and follow it's instructions carefully when you get it.

RFEs are nothing to worry about. They're a slight delay to your case, which is irritating, but they're a nice, well defined process that's easy to follow and doesn't confuse anybody, especially the USCIS adjudicator. And as long as your adjudicator (the person actually processing your AOS filing) isn't confused, everything is fine. :)

DON'T PANIC

oh Darnell i don't have my NOA2 yet. they said i didn't have to wait for it to send the I-485. The only reason i send it, is because my husband will be out of the country for a long long time and he wanted us to be done with this before deployment. thanx heatdeath i hope they keep the packet and no RFE.

Sorry, I keep forgetting about yer exact casefile type. My Bad.. my advice was for K-1/K-3 ppl who file for AOS after arriving in the USA. Ignore me, mostly ;)

----

If I understand you... (and after reading yer profile)

you filed the I-485 after filing the I-130.

You sent copy of the I-130 transfer notice with the I-485 submittal, all addressed to the 'new address' from the I-130 notice.

IMO, you've done OK . No Sweat, for now.

** moved from "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from Family Based Visas" to "Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas" as you are adjusting from a visa other than a K1, K2, K3 & K4 which is what the prior forum is for**
