After a long long wait our K3 was approved and we were sent packet 3. Unfortunately for me not to anticipate this but I now have to get a Police Certificate for places lived since I was 16. That includes Pakistan but I was told by the Pakistani Consulate that it may take 2 to 4 months even 6 to get the Police Certificate! I have had them start the process. But is there anyone who has any suggestions or advise regarding how I can speed things up?? Any advise will be really appreciated.

Thanks,

FaK

My husband got almost all of his days in a matter of days-it usually doesnt take that long.

Yeah my husband got two police certificates from Karachi-just go to your district police station and they will probably give you some forms to fill out and all. It shouldnt take more than 2 weeks. Are you in Karachi right now?

My husband got his certificates within two weeks once he applied for them. If you are in Karachi now you should go and fill out the forms and then they can have them back to you in a few weeks. Good luck.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

So it looks like my best bet is to have someone followup on my behalf with the Police Station of the area where I used to live. I guess this seems to be the fastest way. Thanks.

Okay, here's the deal. I came to Canada and I required a police certificate. I went to the police station, filled out forms and it was given to me after 3 weeks. Now you have to be present at the SSP office to get this. I now again need it for K-3, so I went to the Pakistani Consulate Toronto and they told me it takes about 3 months. I tried sending someone to the Police station in Pakistan but they won't make it as they require me to be physically present in Pakistan or have it done through the embassy. You can also try the same way. In which country are you?

Well..hold on..i am now completly perplexed.

I have US Passport and i have applied for my wife who is in Pakistan. I got her police clearance in few hours but I now assume that I have to get police clearance for myself as well?is this the case?

WHY DO I NEED POLICE CERTIFICATE FOR K3 OR I-130 FOR MYSELF?. I beleived that it is needed only for my wife who will be issued visa

My heart is sinking now ...swear to God

Can someone please shed some more light on this

Please help

Utterly confused :crying:
