I made the reservations today for our stay in Bogota @ bogotacolombialodging.com. Very easy, they are based in Miami Fl, speak english and seem very nice. I am sending Paola to Bogota on the 13th, I arrive on the 15th, interview on the 17th. I plan to leave on the 24th. That should give us enough time to get the visa. Since our interview is on Friday, we will have the weeked to bang around. The time frame all seems like it will work and we have a couple extra days in case of problems.

I keep changing my mind on the airfare for her. It seems almost all on here receive the visa, based on that, I could buy her ticket now. I want to go through the POE with her. Making the reservations for her after she gets the visa may not put us on the same flight. The Houston to Portland OR. flight is always full. If I wait and bring her up in a week or two after the approval I would want to fly down and come back with her. Spendy and hard to get away from work that much. If we are denied then I lose my money for her ticket. LOL>LOL. All the stuff that goes through ypour mind at this stage is pretty wild. I wish I was a little more calmer of a person. LOL.

I can't wait to hear the results from the interviews that are next week. We all seem to be doing pretty good.

Buck, you can take the chance like I did and buy your tickets in advance, but..... I bought three tickets from Bogota to Miami and four tickets (one for me) from Miami to KC before the interview. It was a great leap of faith on my part. As you probably know, there is a significant difference in Lorena's age and mine. This fact is often seen as one potential sign of fraud by the USCIS. We had to count on all of our documentation being more than adequate to allay any doubts the CO might have.

If I had it to do again I would, but would I recommend it to anyone else? No way. Obviously, however, you make your own assessment and decision. It's good that you're giving yourself a week after the interview. In the unlikely situation that you would have to cancel or postpone the flight, you will still have time to reschedule with only minimal cost.

I wish you the best of luck.

Parkpapa..............My age difference between Paola and me I think is a bit more then you and your wife. Me 55, her 29. That is not the only red flag. We have many foto's, 1.5 years of phone records, my visa and debit card records................my airfare itenerys,(sp) one of her and her mothers to Panama and my one trip to Colombia. We met in Panama, I always flew her to Panama in other visits, and my first divorce from 32 years ago was not finaled untill after my second divorce due to that My first divorce was never filed with the court house. I found out about this when I asked for my copy of my most recent divorce. All this makes me look like something I am not on paper. The real truth is I have been away froim my first wife for 35 years and my secomd wife for 15 years. I did not jump out of a marriage and into another quickly. This visa thing does not allow for explaination, it is black and white on paper. All I know is that we love each other, right or wrong.

I commend the folks that got married before the visa process.................what a leap of faith!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not want to be seperated from my wife. I would move to Colombia in a heart beat if my finacial sitiuation allowed it. What ever the outcome is we will remain together. I am just stewing about the interview. Thank you for your input. I have decide to purchase the ticket for her to rerturn with me. The worst case is I am out some money. I can afford the expense. In that case I am blessed more then some. Also being self employed, I can leave when I want and return when I want. Sort of. LOL>LOL. There are are some on this site that have been an inspiration to me, Parkpapa...........you are one of them. Bless you and thank you.

Buck just use the Force and you'll pass the interview... :)

As long as you have adequate evidence, and you both are in line with your answers, and you show affection for each other all throughout the waiting time (instead of disregarding each other), then you should have little problems with an itinerary to Portland together.

August 17 is right around the corner. Make sure you have everything all set ASAP.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

buck, all i can tell you is what helped us, if this can help you then great.

first, if you are a religious person put your trust in God. we did and everything has come out perfectly. also, if you know in your heart that you aren´t doing anything wrong, then there is nothing to worry about. if you feel you need to explain something, some special circumstance that you are concerned about, the CO will ask you about it and you´ll have an opportunity to explain. during our interview we weren´t asked for any kind of evidence but i was asked about a descrepency in my taxes. it took me by surprise since i was expecting other types of questions and it took me a few seconds to figure out the answer but when i gave the CO a reason, she was satisfied and that was the end of that. as i wrote in my report, i did see one male CO grill a guy that had an age difference like yours, but they had an answer for all of the questions, didn´t stumble and were granted the visa. practice ahead of time and you´ll be fine.

good luck

JK

Mucho gracias. We practice and go over all the qustions and whatever else about each others past and family every night. I think we are becoming a carbon copy of each other, jajaja. hI THERE BUCK, I know that during this time, you must be nervous, but just relax, after everything that you told us, I'm sure you will be allright, staying a week in bogota, gives you enough time to do everything that is needed, enjoy your time over there, remember that is really the beginning of your relationship, because after the interview you two are going to be together forever, so start enjoying each others company and just think about how happy you and Paola are gong to be, good luck, and thanks for the list of questions that you sent me, my girl is already practicing and also i'm giving her cetain answers that she did not know about, keeps us inform and soon I let everyone know about my interview date too, which I believe will be early september, so good luck....
