Looking at Hal and Lucho's timelines, you guys smoked right along back in 2006 / 2007 with your I-129F Petitions

Seems it's other 2-3 months added onto the process in 2008- at least! More to follow, I'm sure....

Joe

P.S. Long way to go for me, is right, Diana!

Thanks Diana,

Alexandra called Bogota and ask the doctor with which she will schedule her appointment and they told her 4 vaccines, I would think that would include the HPV, she is 26. It was classic Colombia she called 2 places in Cali and one said she needed 4, the honest one, and another said she need 8, the one that wanted 400.00..lol. My package has been sent from NVC enroute to Bogota and I think I have everything ready to go just waiting until Bogota receives it to fax and courier the docs they need to schedule the appointment. I have seen some people referencing copies of the entire I-129F packet being needed at the interview but isn't that what was sent from VSC? I sent the I-134 and could email her copies of the I-129F if they need it again for some reason.

The reason why many of us took copies of everything we sent the USCIS and the NVC in my case, is because you never know who will be handling these packets the embassy receives, and if they're missing 1 document for whatever reason, it's a good idea to have a back up copy. Or if they are misreading information, it's good to have the document in your hand to prove otherwise.

You don't have to do it though, but it's just a good idea, just in case.

Processing times have changed quite a bit since last year where the VSC was notorious for approving K1 petitions in less than 1 month. I saw several petitions being approved after 1 week. My I-130 was approved by the CSC in about 90 days, today that's totally unheard of.

But hang it there, if you weren't patient before this, you will learn it through this process.

Diana, I thought about paying to ship it down there but in my over 2 1/2 years I have had mixed shipping results as far as time receiving items. It is better since everything is by airplane but with USPS I made the mistake of sending something by boat(I had no idea it was by boat)I think it appeared at her apartment in 5 1/2 weeks. I could email it all to her but it would cost me a small fortune for her to print it all.

Joe it appears there is no rhyme or reason as to what order they approve things in.....I think mine was in like 126 days. There are June filers still waiting and I was in the July filers group and one of the last ones to file there. I know VSC was having some website issues so when I logged in and noticed a touch I was shocked and that night my status changed to approved, but Vermont truly appears to clear them out quicker. I always thought I was a patient guy, until I dealt with this process, then I realized I wasn't as patient as I thought. Now things appear to be in whirlwind planning and saving money mode since receiving the NOA2.

Yeah, the timelines seem to be off the board at times... I thought it was supposed to be basically processed in the order received, but maybe some petitions need more background checking or maybe due to the country the beneficiary lives? (potentially ones with higher fraud rates?) I feel for the folks that have been waiting for 6 months plus and no word even on NOA2s. Then, the ones that get shut down at the actual foreign embassy interview is really a heartbreaker.... seems like there are a lot worse places (embassies) to deal with compared to Colombia...

Yeah... she should call them back with a hardcopy of the CDC Vaccination guidelines in Español to have a little fun in catching them in their own lie. I pushed and pulled some months back about the embassy-approved MDs being ladrones with expected results. Since this is nearly something that is forced upon her, have her take the guidelines and the vaccination reqs with her in hardcopy in Spanish when she goes to the MD appt. just in case they try to pull a fast one on her.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Didn't seem like a fast process back then... but then again I called and called once I knew the AOS process was almost at the 6-month mark. As for the K process... it helped that I was living with my fiancee in Colombia when we got her CRIS update of approval for the K-1.

Just when I thought I had everything covered....

I just noticed that on the I-129F form I submitted, somehow I omitted my fiance's phone number (under "your fiance's address abroad" which is question number 15 on page 2 of that form). How the hell I left that off........ anyway, any suggestions as to if I should somehow call or write them (CSC), or just leave it be and see if I get an RFE or something? I'm guessing no one will just simply call me and ask me for it?

THANKS,

Joe

I honestly don't think you will be receiving an RFE for it, I made a similar mistake on mine and never heard anything from them. If you do, you can send them the info when you get it but it's best to leave it as is for now.

They probably won't call your fiancee to see how everything is. You know... they do that. My girl got a whuzzuuuup call.

J/k.

But if they have questions to ask your fiancee to clarify, not having the tel # will mean they may ask it during the interview. My girl got a call requesting clarification on her last name's spelling. No sweat. It was different on her cédula and on the petition b/c the notaria that processed her cédula messed up by putting an S where there should have been a Z.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
