Many people have been approved without having their SOs go along with them to the interview but it is certainly a huge relief if you go. The trip is worth it for that alone. My husband and I had a very good case, straightforward, nothing weird and I'm sure he would've been fine without me but I was able to afford the trip and be with him, even if it was just for moral support. The CO just asked him if I was his wife, he looked at me and that was it, he was approved on the spot.

Yep 440 plus tax and everything. I already got it and will be heading to Bogota on November 4th and we will have the interview on November 6th. Plus it is also good that i can take all the paperwork and not have to rely on some service to hopefully deliver the paperwork on time.

Exactly. You can trust yourself and not lose any sleep over it.

Bon voyage!

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Has anyone ever had any trouble with not having police reports from countries where you've visited *less* than six months? Mine was in one country for a little over two months and I would really not be looking forward to having to get that report!

What about DAS not keying the re-entry? We had this happen on a six day trip somewhere else.

I have a question. My fiancee has the interview November 20th. On the I-134, where it asks for real estate, I own some in Colombia, but is it necessary to include this?

also if I do not include it do I leave it blank, write NA or what? Thanks

In the case of my SO, DAS had records on someone other than her. That would have been a problem with the Certificado Migratorio... but it didn't pose any issues with the Embassy or with DAS when we returned on vacation.

If its *yours* and you do not have enough assets to complete the poverty level requirements on the I-134, then yes, disclose it.

Thanks HAL 9000

I make just over 28,000 a year so I should be ok right? I will not be putting down my real estate since it is in colombia and probably not needed on there

As far as where I put value of personal property, I own some cars, musical equipment etc.. this can be considered acceptable to put there? it is about 12,000 in value

I really have read 947563947657 pages on these subjects but honestly the day is nearing and my head is upside down and I cant remember anything...stress does a number. Just making sure I wil be ok come Nov 20th :)

I've seen a few new members here and there from Colombia who I don't think know about this thread.

If I see them around I'll send them the link.

Hey guys,

So im getting ready to fly into Bogota early tomorrow and also for the interview on Thursday. All we need to do over there are the medical exams (hopefully not too many vaccines) and the immigration paper that can only be gotten there. So hopefully everything goes well and when i fly back it will be knowing that my wife has the visa and can come to the United States. Thanks for the help and wish us luck!

Hey guys,

We went on the interview today and got the visa approved!!! We were out by 10 am and the whole process was pretty smooth. It was surprising that the consul asked my wife two basic questions: When we met and when we got married and after that spoke to me in English asking me the same questions and what i studied at NYU and where i wanted to continue medical school. She continued and said so ok the visa is approved.. by this time i almost passed out in joy with my wife. We will be getting a ticket for her around Nov 22 - 3 days before my birthday, and what better birthday gift to have than my wife. Thanks for all the help guys and i will be seeing you in the AOS side in a short time. Thanks for everything again.

Harold
