Hello Colombia Club!

It's been a while since I have visited here. Monica is still active in the Spanish forum.

Can you imagine that it has been a full year since my love arrived here in the California?

September 16 was when she completed her full year in the US.

She has her Green Card back in May/2008, she has her driver's license, she got a job, she has her car and we'll be soon in a new house!

Also, my in-laws are visiting us for a few weeks. Everyone is so happy. After 54 years of marriage, this is the first time they traveled outside the country together.

Here is a pic by the Golden Gate Bridge-

Awesome Chester! Glad to see you popping by for a visit.

Hope things continue to be great for you two.

It's been a while since I've visited VJ. Hope all is well. Wendy and I are doing well. She's still studying english and learning how to drive.

Great Lucho... all the best to the both of you.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Hi guys first post here, but been reading since beginning of year. I'm only up to page 59 on this thread but I have some questions. Getting packet 3 ready

1. Will it matter that my employment letter is dated for today? I dont have an interview yet but I've had the letter made up already. I just dont want it to be "outdated" by the time I get an interview.

2. Same with bank statements. Do they have to be up to the minute or will up to this month be fine?

3. On the DS-230 which was completed by my attorney, #40 asks who prepared the document and their signature. Since they email the pdf.file there is no signature. I asked and they said it wouldnt be necessary, just their information is fine. Can anyone confirm this? I dont want to show up and have them say "Sorry, not signed" I dont see it being a problem as the information they need is there.

Good luck to everyone!! and thanks in advance for any replies! I hope to be able to help out couples in the future

Hello Chachi and welcome to VJ and the Colombian Club.

1. Do you have an NOA2 already? Or are you still waiting for it. I don't think it will matter if it's not too old. Mine was 4 months old and was still ok with the embassy.

2. I did take paystubs for the last 3 months prior to our interview beginning with the most recent one.

3. I'm not sure about this one since we didn't use a lawyer, maybe someone who did can pitch in. I honestly don't see a problem with this though.

Mononoke, thanks for the reply, yeah I received the NOA2 I just have to get my dates straight for my sig.

Since the potential interview date is looming near I will be having some questions :)

I read somewhere that the I-134 has to be printed on both sides which makes sense since its being notarized.

Should I also do this with the 230's part one I and II? or has anyone submitted single printed sheets, again this document needs to be signed so I assume it need to be on both sides, but I wanto to make sure. Thanks guys

My friends... I have some great news to report: our visa was approved!! It was easy, simple and they only spoke to my wife. Maybe it is because we have already been married for a while, or maybe after all our adventure in Juarez they decided to have some mercy. In any case, it's approved. Neverntheless, I won't be fully happy until I have her passport in hand. Now that I think about it... naaahhh, I am EXTREMELY Happy!!!

- Chachiusa... when yo usay I-134, do you mean I-130? If so, my advice is don't even worry with that form. When you go to the bank to pay, you need to bring those forms but they will always find something incorrect. So they will give you new forms for you to fill right there. Just bring all the information ready, so that you don't spend too much time filling them, but believe me, the success rate of people paying in the bank with a pre-filled form is quite low (we filled our forms about three times until we got them exactly as they wanted).

About the DS-230 they only asked me for part I, and I brougt single printed sheets (i.e two separate pages)

Good luck with your process!!! Ok... today I'll take a brake and tomorrow I'll start chasing Domesa.

Juan Carlos.

I am sorry... I forgot to give thanks to each and everyone of you. Particularly Diana and Colombiano Gringo. Everything you've said and written on this forum was so helpful!!!!!!!! The best part: our visa approved... and I don't have to give any additional money to that lawyer of mine! Thanks, everyone!! I hope I can now be helpful to other people going to this process.

- Diana, about the only thing you didn't tell me about the "welovebogota" apartments, is that you have to be extremely careful with the master bedroom's key. Otherwise, you risk getting locked outside of it. Luckly there is a locksmith next door.

Congratulations Juan Carlos! That's great news! I know what you are saying about filling the forms at the Banco de Credito correctly. We had forms filled online and they didn't like what we did and we had to go to the Banco de Credito twice.
