Hello all,

A little update. We received our interview date. We will have our interview on March 31st. This is also my birthday, so a double blessing.

With that said, Congratulations Osita. I finally know how you feel. It would be great to meet you at the embassy or at the apartments. I wish you the best.

Also, Congratulations to you Santa Marta. I know that you have been waiting far longer than most and I hope this is the first step to finally reaching your goal. Good luck.

My boyfriend (soon husband) and I are so happy to be that close...he is counting the days

:D. I'm glad to hear that Carina has her interview on the 31st too. My boyfriend won't be able to be with me at the Embassy but we have checked everything and it shouldn't be a problem  .

I would like to thank you all of you at the Colombia Club because each post has provided us with information that has helped us to go through this process.

FYI, it does seem that K3 visas are no longer being processed by the USCIS. So if new members are interested in filing for this type of visa for their wives/husbands, you should call the USCIS before you file and see if the CR1/IR1 is your only option at this time (which is a blessing in disguise in my opinion).

Diana

UPDATE:

***As per the USCIS, all K-3 cases with a NOA1 date after 7/30/2007 are being canceled.***

It looks like the only path now for married couples is CR1/IR1.

I was typing this up in another program before checking the site. Now I see Diana's post, but I will post this anyway...

I was just thinking of something in regard to the canceling of the K3 visas. When I called the NVC after the approval of our K3 the lady said something weird to me... She said: "Ohh Mr. Agentes. I have you as the registered Agent." I am wondering if that ties into the automatic dropping of the K3? In other words, as the drop the K3 they would just be making the spouse the agent. I mention this because we never went through anything that designated me as the agent. I think there is something with the CR1 that you designate an agent isn't there?

I also received a Packet 3 and Packet 4. I asked for a Packet 3 re-mail, so I figured that is why I got the Packet 3, but last night I received a Packet 4 as well, without even asking. (My wife received hers about 10 days ago)

In another post I think I mentioned that I got my Packet 3 re-mail from the NVC, this one came from here in the states too. (Though I think I may be wrong and it actually came from DOS and not the NVC)

Congratulations to Paola from both of us!!!!!!!!!! Lorena's done some looking for work, but the English skill issue is making her shy about pursuing anything. Since she got her driver's license, I've had her do more and more driving to get her used to the area and also American driving habits. All of us who've been to Colombia think they drive crazy down there (I do too!! lol), but they don't drive nearly as fast as we do. Lorena still has a lot of fear in pulling onto an interstate highway with all the semi's speeding by. Come to think of it, some of those guys scare me too!

I can relate. I think it is one of the beauties in this process. My wife is the same. To pass time we look at websites together and she has taken a liking to Target, so I got her a Target gift card to use when she is here, and she loves it! She can not wait to use it. jaja Now, I find myself buying gift cards to use when she gets here. She has 7 now and these are for everyday places that I would just normally pay in cash.

There is nothing that makes me happier in life than to watch my wife smile with true appreciation.

I received a copy of package 4 today in the mail. The appointment letter lists the names of Bella and the 2 children. Then below it lists "Travelling Applicants" and only Bella's name is listed.

This is the first time I have heard use of the term Travelling Applicants and I am a little concerned that the children were not listed. They were designated on line 21A of the DS-230 as accompanying Bella when we requested the interview appointment.

Does anyone know if the children should have been listed as travelling applicants?

Thanks!

Bill
