Mystery,

The DAS Migratory does take three days to get in Bogota. My wife is from Barranquilla and it would have been a month wait there. My wife went on a Tuesday and picked it up on Friday. See Andrea's post above on how the interview went. It was very easy and the hardest part was the 4 hour wait before the walk up to the window.

Dre,

All you need to send are:I-134 http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134.pdf (this has to be notarized)

your latest tax return, and a letter from your employer indicating your salary and how long you have worked there.

We were not asked to fill out the I-864. At least not in our packet 4 info.

OK, so on the path of the K1...things are moving quick! Packet 3 arrived back at the embassy on Tuesday (should have been there monday, but the truck had an accident on the highway!) so not sure if we got it in on time for a February interview date, but we'll see. I told Silvia if she doesn't receive packet 4 and the interview date by next Wednesday, then have her cousin (who lives in Bogota) go to the embassy and pick it up next Thursday at 12:30... (thank you for this great info).

The only thing we need to get still is this DAS certificado migratorio, but we'll do that in Bogota as well as it appears pretty easy...any reports on how long the line was? (your information has been great on this too!)

The only thing that's still causing me a bit of stress is the medical. Silvia says she doesn't have records of ANY of her vaccinations except for Yellow Fever. As we don't have packet 4 yet, I'm not sure what to expect here.

First off, can she get all the needed vaccinations at once from the doctor? are the doctors only in Bogota? how long does it usually take to get the medical appointment? Any thoughts you can provide on the medical experience would put my mind at ease a bit. I read through others' posts about their medicals which helps a bit.

Thank you! and Colombia Club has been such a great thread

B- thanks for the feedback on the I-134 docs. I'll make sure my husband pulls the I-864 out of the package before the interview. Lucky for me, I had them both notarized so everything is good to go.

BlueEyez.... my husband lives in Medellin and he didn't have his shot records either. What he did was go to the local health department and they gave him a chicken pox, MMR, and TD (Difteria-tetanos). He went prior to going to Bogota for his lab and medicals, so you might want to have her go ahead and get that done now.

we got approved today.

here is the info on the day.....

arrived at embassy at 6:10 a.m.

3 lines - appears line 3 is for K and CR/IR visas

lines start to move at 6:30 - they check cita and DS-156

go to the back of the area for briefing on forms

they write down our names in order of arrival

in order, we are called to the window to have our documents reviewed (takes lots of time)

sent to other area to sit and wait.

beneficiaries are NOT called in same order as arrival

several denials.... getting nervous.

my wife is called to the window

we watched him review our packet (we included proof of relationship with our I-129F)

he asked my wife no questions....and asked for no additional documents. he simply said "approved"

we leave embassy at 11:30 a.m. - five hours

FYI -

DS-157 not required of my wife

No need to bring DS-230, part II - not required

i was the only gringo in sight

Questions? just ask. not typing a lot because i do not type on the spanish keyboard well.

Mike,

Congratulations on your approval!!! I was on pins and needles all day Friday thinking of you and Adrianna. Its good to hear that things went to smooth for the two of you. I say its all preparation. Like Tony, I wonder what the denials were do to, but one the thing I'm sure of is that none of them were part of this community. I think our team work definitely gives us all a HUGE advantage.

OK....MY QUESTION....what proof of relationship did you provide? Here's what I have so far:

1. pictures of our wedding

2. about 20 emails from this past year

3. cards and proof of mailing back and forth to each other

4. hundreds of calling cards (I taped them together into 8 x 10 sheets and put them in sheet protectors)

5. pictures from my trip to colombia, but unfortunately, none of us together

6. my airline tickets for proof of my visit last summer

I have all of this organized in a presentation folder, everything inside of sheet protectors.

Should we hand this folder in with our paperwork? I'm super worried about our lack of pictures together. The only good thing is that we have lots of wedding pictures with my family and my children. This is really the only thing that has me stressed. Everything else is perfect!!!

Well, Mike, I know you must be on cloud nine so I appreciate you taking the time to let us know how it all went. Enjoy the rest of your time in Colombia and have a safe trip home.

Hi all,

I am new posting to this thread as I just received my NOA2 this week! Really, I am posting to introduce myself. I am sure I will have many questions over the next two weeks. I am trying to get as much information as possible collected before going to Bogota and Armenia in February. Francisco and I had planned this trip for quite some time and now as luck would have it, we might be able to use this time to prepare our next batch of paperwork and send to the embassy asap! This thread has already answered several questions -- thanks to all of you who have gone before.

Good luck to everyone!

Kathy,

Welcome aboard and congrats on your NOA2 approval. I suggest you start by going backwards on this thread to approximately Mid November 06..that's when this group got their NOA2s..including me. Start reading there and you will learn a lot about the process and the shortcuts. If all goes well and you follow our lead, you should have an interview early March. I have a copy of PK3 and PK4, if you want them, send me a PM and I'll email them to you. Post ANY question you have and I wish you the best of luck!!! The best news is you're almost there!

Hola!

Welcome and feel free to ask any questions. It seems to be that the DAS Migratory may take the longest to acquire ( for those outside of Bogota ), so I suggest working on that ASAP. It seems to be giving many of use the most confusion and worry.
