Byron... I am sorry to hear about your RFE. And I can feel your pain about those lawyers. They did something very similar to me with my NOA1. At least now that you know about the RFE you can take some action. If you don't mind me asking... what additional document are they asking from you?

If anyone reading this post is at that initial stage, thinking about hiring a lawyer for a K1/K3 visa, I would strongly suggest to read this whole forum from A to Z before making the decission. It will take a couple of days; but in the long run, you will be saving time, money and headaches.

Thanks, Diana, for your advice. I'll start calling USCIS.

Juan Carlos.

I smell a fired lawyer coming up...

Man if you could get a refund for this kind of behavior... on top of what you pay for! You'll be OK though. Godspeed Byron.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

OMG, I can't believe that Byron. You wait this long for an RFE, then you have to tell her you got an RFE, then she says she has to go through her pile of mail to see if it's there, then she finds it, and THEN she says it's because she didn't ask you to sing a form?????? That is beyond ridiculous.

Well, at least you'll know that an NOA2 is coming soon. And I wouldn't wait on her to let you know if you got it. Also, remember that you need this in order to file for AOS, so she better not have "new" issues come up with the NOA2.

OK...just came back from the lawyer's office....i signed the damn paper and let her know that thanks to her 2 mistakes...first giving me the wrong amount to send on the check to USCIS and then for not having me sign a paper has cost me easily a month.....I then told her to sit dow cause i took everything i have for evidence and that i wanted her to advise me wether it was enough ....she just said yes to everything like with no care in the world..I then told her if she wanted i would send the papers today through my own Fedex account because i didnt depend on her and she said if i wanted to send it myself then she wouldbe more than glad to close the case and that i could hande it on my own....she then added that she would send it today by 4 pm......i told her to go ahead...right now im debating wether sending a letter to USCIS to have her removed from my case or .....i have come this far , i might as well just let it go and stay on top of things myself..

Your so close to it being approved for it that it makes no sense to go through the hassle of contacting the USCIS to have her name removed from your case.

Did you pay her to handle your AOS as well?

 I am sure you all have seen this but just in case there are some new people out there in need of a consolidated info packet. This was very helpful to me and it has the Sept 2007 revised OF-169 included.

(Looks like Packet 3 for K1 & K2 - Bogota)

 FYI...http://bogota.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/k1-k2instructionseng-_2_.pdf

(Looks like latest Packet 4 for K1 & K2 - Bogota)

:thumbs:http://bogota.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/wwwf...ntment_temp.pdf

:innocent: I hope its helpful

Quick note. That packet 4 link is not for K1 visas. The dead give a way is the $380 fee, k1 fee is $100.

This is the K1 packet 4 link

Greetings all, this is a great forum and I appreciate all the help from those that came before us. My question regards the baptismal certificate for Colombia. From what I can find, this is a unique request that seems to only be a concern in Colombia. My fiancee is not Catholic and has no baptismal certificate. What can be substituted for the baptismal or what other information should we submitt? Thanks for all your help. Cameron

There are a couple of posts on this subject here and here.

No. IRS has the original. You can obtain a transcript from IRS for the embassy. I also think that you can use a copy if you also have the W2's. We need to hear from someone who has used a copy to confirm this.
