Thanks Buck, I will look into it. Since Wendy isnt able to work yet, i'm trying to flood her brain with english for 2 purposes.

1. So she can command the english language.

2. So I can command the english language well like I used to. Since I have been speaking spanish with her for so long, my english has gone thru the drain. I catch myself with a spanish accent sometimes.

Lucho. I have lived here all my life, I still do not have command of the english language. I would almost kill for a spanish accent. That would mean I would be bi lingual.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was a lot of reading!!!!!!!!! Iwent through EVERY single page and post on this thread. I feel very prepared!!!!!!!! But at the same time i dont want to get too confident. Today I sent my baby some money to start getting some of the stuff needed for the interview.. I do have one question though...Do the DAS certificates have expirations to them, i thought i read somewhere that one of them is valid for only 30 days..and being that i am still waiting for the NOA2 ( 75 days and counting ) i dont know if its smart for me to have her get them yet since i have no interview any tme soon...What do you guys think???????

the certificado judicial is good for a year. the certificado migratorio i'm not sure about because it was given in a sealed envelope and i don't remember seeing any expiration date on the outside. if you are in bogota you can get the migratorio in 2-3days, the judicial is given the same day.

Byron,

Your fiancée can get the certificados the week you find out you've been approved by the USCIS. That should give you plenty of time to get them all before the interview since she lives in Bogotá. Like JK said, getting both of them only takes 3-4 days.

I needed to change my reservations so I called the hotel in Bogota...............................http://bogotacolombialodging.com/index.html

I spoke with Bob, the owner. A very nice and accomadating man. The prices are reasonable, they will pick you up at the airport for a small fee. He is very familiar with the visa process and handles visa's for $395.00. He says he knows most of the reasons peole are denied and is will ing to cover the interview process with you before your interview, including a list of questions most commonly asked at the embassy. Info for any new person that may be considering getting help in Colombia. He will even lend you a engagment ring for the interview if you do not have one. LOL>LOL. Since we will be in Bogota for 1.5 weeks and I wanted to see the sites, they have a driver that will take you around for a very reasonable rate. $9.00 per hour plus gas. I think that is not bad. Tony also has the name and number of a taxi driver that he says is good. So, for me transpotation with a reliable taxi has been taken care of. I will post more info about the apartment and services upon my return. I have seen the subject of where to stay come up often, maybe this will be of some help to somebody.

Chester,

Call NVC, you might be scheduled for an interview already. The embassy schedules you for the interview and NVC is automatically notified of the date.

Good idea, lucho. I got my Servientraga confirmation that Packet 3 was delivered. Our fax was transmitted on Monday July 30. Will check one more time. Since I am down here in Buga, I'm enjoying the moment I am with her.

When did you send Pkt 3? If it has been more then 2 weeks you most likley have an interveiw date already. You can call the NVC, they can tell you the staus of your visa application.

You can download a copy of Pkt 4 from the US Embassy site. It may be a good idea to do that now and start getting all the requirements togeather for Pkt 4. All you need from the Embassy is the Letter of invitation for teh interview.

Depending on where your wife lives it can take a while to get some of the docs. Sending a copy of your wifes passport with Pkt 3 is not required but very huch recommended. Too much info is better then too little.

You will be able to get any info you need from thre folks on this site. Welcome.

Welcome.

i mailed it yesterday, what is next?

thank you for everything Buck?
