3 years of tax information? I thought only last year's W-2 and tax returns (plus a couple of pay stubs) were required.

On the I-34 it says....... If self employed: A copy of the last tax return filed......I didnt see where it even ask for 1 tax return if you were an employee.

The embassies can and do make up their own rules. The Bogota Package 3 instructions call for the last year's tax return for everyone. Based on the experience of those who have been through the process in Bogota, it is best to have a total of 3 years of returns with you just in case. Give them one and keep the other two until when and if they are needed.

It is much better to have them and not need them then it is to have to wait another month or more until the beneficiary can get an appointment to return with missing documents.

Exacto.

Give them a little more than what they ask for when they ask for evidence. Highlight yellow the line items that match the quantities on the I-134. Show sufficiency to impress Embassy Inquisitor #1. This will get you through the process with more confidence and calm.

It only makes approvals that much easier.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I agree, we've always said that it's best to be overprepared than not be prepared at all. I submitted copies of my tax returns along with copies of the W2s for the past 3 years, 6 months worth of paystubs and a letter from my employer. I highlighted everthing I could think of, name, social security #, dollar amounts, dates, all that.

Just a reminder, you can submit copies of tax returns along with W2s OR tax transcripts which can be ordered from the IRS. If you choose to use copies of tax returns, keep in mind that they are not valid WITHOUT copies of the corresponding W2s and vice versa.

Ok being that we have the interview on the 31st, should Leidy start the vaccines ,im a little worried because of the on that is in two phases and that you have to wait some time in between....also , being that its the holiday saeson and we all know that in Colombia that means days off every other day, she doesnt have the letter from the embassy yet, but should she call Dra. Gonzalez and schedule the appointment , the reason i ask is because i dont want to be stuck with the Dra. on vacation or something and no appointment...Today i am calling her office and there is no answer.

Byron,

I'm no longer an expert on this.....i've forgotten so many things. But I believe she will be good to go if she gets her vaccines done a week prior to the interview. I do know on one maybe two of the vaccines there is time needed inbetween doses, but that does not matter at all. What matters is that she takes at least the first dose of all the vaccines.

Lucho is right Byron. Since those stupid doctors are being so strict on when the beneficiary got their shots, make sure she doesn't get them longer than a week prior to her medical or she'll have to get them again and pay more money there. Also, even if one of the shots has a couple of doses, the doctor will write that down on her medical results.

AT LONG LAST!!! We are FINALLY one step closer to having things go our way. We received an e-mail today that Lorena's EAD (work permit) has been approved - this took 4 months almost to the day from her biometrics appointment.

I had called USCIS last week for an update and, as usual, got an entirely different answer than all the previous ones. But, this time, it was REALLY different! The last lady I talked to said we couldn't enter a service request even if the processing time was past. She said Lorena's employment authorization would be on hold until her AOS package was approved. She also told me that I couldn't have filed it separately. Both of these statements were obviously wrong. Even information on the USCIS website contradicted her.

I have long since concluded that the people you talk to on the USCIS phone system are only give one instruction: stall and tell the caller whatever you can think of to frustrate them and make them hang up.

Anyway, at least this portion is over with. We're still awaiting word from the USCIS Ombudsman and my US Senator regarding the AOS mess. But, at this point, I'll take even a small miracle. LOL

Way to go Charles!

Keep at it.

Byron... one week prior to medical... avoid stressing at the MDs office... even though the whole situation (we hope) with this unethical treatment of patients is to be looked at by Capt. Ewok's questions for the Embassy. Hopefully...

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
