Then how will Arizona enforce this law? Put aside driving in a vehicle, IMO someone driving without a license should be arrested anyway so thats a non issue. Lets use this scenario, police respond to a domestic abuse call. On arrival they meet the couple and decide no crime has occured. Now what tools have the police to determine if the couple is legal or not? They have no passports, no license etc. The police can't use their race, the way they talk etc. so what will give them the opportunity to ask about their status and potentially detain them.

Then in that scenario, if there's no reasonable suspicion, the police carry on their merry way and don't ask.

Who has no ID in their house? Talk about silly extremities.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I find it funny how these threads make it so many pages. I think the major point that people here are missing is the endgame of this bill, which is enforcement of federal immigration law. The state of Arizona has no jurisdiction to enforce those laws. At best, they can clog up their jails with suspected illegal immigrants and ask ICE to come and deport them. If ICE declines, which they frequently do, except in cases of severe crimes committed, then Arizona is just going to fill up it's jails and cost taxpayers even more money.

Oh no, don't bother talking interpretation to Charles. He'll quote Charlton Heston all day long, let alone try to actually argue the context of the 2nd amendment when it was written :P

Pot meet kettle.

Funny how when it suits libs you talk about context but play dumb when it does not. How about the context of the first amendment? Or in 1778 was that supposed to be used to allow anything and everything. Funny how most other first world countries grasp its actual context, as in freedom to voice ones political opinion, rather than freedom to flop your #### out and wave it in public.

They should just bus them to your city. Lets see who is the smart guy now Mr Mayor Valladouchea.

I've said it once in this thread, and I'll say it again: The illegal immigration issue is one of human rights. If we ignore the human rights violations that go on with illegal human trafficking and illegal work conditions, we are condoning the continual violation of human rights in this country.

i let this go last time you wrote it. you pinned one right in the bull's eye. the USA is once again a slave nation. and the left seem to love it. the left keeps the border open so illegals can come to be exploited by the right (thanks!) by employing them with no rights and SLAVE wages thanks to the left... thank you, thank you, thank you lefty.

the right immigration reform is a very very strong border, strong workplace rules so no one can work illegal unless paid strictly in cash and a guest worker program that allows people to bring nannies and maids to the USA. i don't need a nanny, but i'd like a maid. anyone of the guest workers that screws up in the US gets their passport flagged, deported and banned from the US. let's be like the Arab nations that employ cheap help from around the world. i think families in america are over worked so to be able to hire help would be nice.

oh, and no birth right citizenship, this has to end!

At best, you're disingenuous, but more likely, you're either making sh!t up. I don't see where i've flopped, or been ambiguous about the 1st amendment. I believe that the constitution and bill of rights are a living document, open to interpretation to suit the needs of society today, not a literal reading of a 230 year old document that could not even fathom todays society.

They should just bus them to your city. Lets see who is the smart guy now Mr Mayor Valladouchea.

I don't live in L.A., but you go ahead and keep throwing out your fantasyland theories there. It wouldn't work anyways, because most of them are already here

Yes, it's liberal corporations who employ the cheap labor, and it's liberal politicians who refuse to place penalties and enforcement measures upon the EMPLOYERS for fear that it is anti-free market. Nice attempt at a straw mans argument though.

The world is ending when I agree with DEDixon.

It's amazing to me how ignorant and naive those who advocate America let the entire world in are. Not to mention, totally ignore why other nations have a significantly higher quality of life. Simple reason is that immigration is strictly controlled. It's a flawed line of thinking and rationale that a nation should just accept everyone from around the world. Just the other day I read something stating that America accepts more immigrants (both legal and illegal) than every other nation combined. People clearly fail to grasp that this is not the 1800's or the early 1900's, a time when American has less than 100 million people.

The fact is that the quality of life for Americans is not improving, it's regressing. What many fail to answer time and time again is how allowing more people people assists those millions of American already living in poverty or in trailers. How does an illegal alien help someone get out of a ghetto or a trailer?

So you just owned yourself then, considering your point against Charles. Great work. I won't bother debating whose definition of freedom is better, I think various international studies and the actual quality of life of others abroad speaks for itself.

Have you ever wondered why the federal courts (judicial system) do not yield anywhere near as much power in other countries, particularly first world countries under the parliamentary system? Because they realize it's open to the bias and ideals of the justice. Bill Maher and Glen Beck could have a law degree from three of the most prestigious law schools but the fact is that had they been supreme judges, their interpretation of the law will coincide with their personal beliefs. Not rocket science. It's why under the parliamentary system, any ambiguity is sent back to the Parliament (government) elected by the people to be voted on. The high Court does not force square pegs into round holes.

BY, are you that dense? Seriously, you need to look up the word contradiction in the dictionary because you appear to be confused. Charles likes to believe in a literal interpretation whereas I believe in a more contemporary interpretation, there's no ambiguiety here, despite your delusional attempts at it.

Not exactl;y true. He was much more diplomatic than that. The power is already bought andpaid for by LA, what the official did was offer to "buy it back" and refund their money if they so choose. He also offered to allow them out of their contract to buy power from Arizona.

The "spin" you see, and replcate here, is more "anti-Arizona" propoganda. If you support them (why?) then you should at least tell the truth.

While I think the Arizona law is stupid, because it is completwely imeffective at addressing anything it proposes to address, I do admire them for making the offer to allow LA out of its multi-million dollar contract in order that LA may be true to their convictions. We'll see how true to their convictions they are.

Arizona no longer want’s the burden and finical cost to support illegal’s! Completely ineffective? The law is not yet enforced, and illegal’s are fleeing the state with the frightening thought of deportation.

i clearly said that i thought it was the RIGHT that exploits illegals for cheap labor.

it is the left that allows the illegals in and promotes their stay so if we correct this wrong, the right would not be able to exploit them.

the left are promoting slavery in america!

the left knows how the right treats illegals so to turn a blind eye to it is condoning slavery. who would have thought, the left, slavery advocates.

how many dems are in california's central valley watching over all the tomato, bean, nut, apple and orange pickers? answer: none.

come on in, welcome to the slave nation!

It's not the right that do it, it's everyone. The bottom line is, people love their cheap sh!t. How else do you explain the rabid success of a ####### company like Walmart?
