Dear Sir/Madam:

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

Regards,

NVC Document Review Team

Before receiving this email, I have already bough ticket to the US for the May long weekend, does that mean I can't go there anymore, (the trip is only a week long) ?

The applicant is the person who's coming to America. S/he applied for VISA using from DS320. You're the peititioner. NVC is saying don't plan on coming to America just yet to the applicant. Because at the interview the visa might be denied. So if you buy ticket thinking you'd get the visa and don't get the visa, you can't nag NVC or Embassy to reimburse you for your ticket. You can go where ever the hell you want for along as you want as an USC.

that's a standard template - basically telling ya that -

although we are through with NVC processing -

you should NOT make any travel arrangements YET for the time period of 'after visa interview'. But that is for 'moving', really. Many ppl jump the gun, buy air tickets, only to have the dates 'not align' with the visa issuance date. Which, of course, sucks.

Otherwise, for you, 'thebirdman', you can mostly ignore it. You might get some hassle at the border though, just be prepared for that.

Now that you've gone through this massive thing at NVC, I suggest - TO CELEBRATE - NOW would be a great time to fill out yer timeline at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=81176

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

OMG! This letter clearly states it's regarding the applicant. Not the peititioner. Why the heck would the peititioner get any hassle at borders other that what is normal?

If you have a valid visa to enter the states other than the one you are waiting on then you will be fine. This just means do not make any travel plans based on the visa you have applied for and are waiting on

Hi

If you have a valid non-inmigrant visa stamped in your passport if ok to visit us. Is advisable have documents that show strong ties to your country. At POE probable the officer Williams aks you about the pettition in progress. You have to talk with no doubts about it because everything that happend depend on wat tris officer think. You have to transmit always that you aré in a visit with no intention to migrate

I am in the states now.

The board crossing was ... some where easy... so what happened was the border officer asked me the purpose for the trip, in the past, I have always been telling them the purpose was vising friends and they let me go in under half a minute. But this time I wanted to be honest replied "visiting my wife", gosh was I wrong. The officer got all alerted and genereted a whole bunch more questions like "how does that work", "how did you guys meet", "what is she doing", "what do you work", "she's american citizen ?", "is this working out for you guys", "i have never heard of this, wife and husband living separately in two countries", blah blah blah blah. Good thing he let me go in the end without sending me to that little room for more questions...

Cheers

I crossed in Toronto, I was asked for a job letter (with an exact return date), a lease (including rent payment receipts), a return ticket, and I even produced a wedding invitation for a wedding later that summer. And she STILL had to go and verify with her supervisor whether or not I should be admitted. It was an ordeal!
