so I called the number and spoke to a person who said my case was at the consulate and being processed (not back in the US)... is this good or bad news?

Its good news.. your case is likely waiting for a supervisor to sign off on the visa.. whatever the issue was that caused the previous delays.. they want to be sure before they issue it... JMHO

let's hope so... the case has a few twists but nothing "illegal". I was amazed when they didn't inquire during the interview. It would have been easier for us to give them the rundown instead of them trying to reconstruct it all themselves. Essentially, he was never "registered" when leaving the country last time so they thought he overstayed. Fortunately, he could prove he had left in accordance with visa waiver validity... just a mess and we had thought we were through and now waiting even more... thanks for all the help and support on here. AP sounds like something from the Soviet era..no accountability and total gov. control over people's lives

not sure if we are in AP or not... the interview was April 28 2010 and they received the medical on May 10th to complete all necessary documents. Normally, they would have sent the visa immediately so I guess we have ben waiting an extra 2 weeks so far
