I'm just curious as to "Why?" Is the OP trying to expedite the K1 process by getting pregnant?

I am not judging, but to people outside the US it is a common misconception people think will work.. Since the kid will be a citizen .. hmm so should they. We also see many questions on here stating "Well if I have a kid in the US that means they can't deport me right?"

One day when you have a child you will know its not the same as before you had a child with someone.

You can beleive anything you want.

Just something to think about. Being a biological parent only means that you have reproductive organs and have used them. It doesnt mean anything more than that. And for that reason, having a child does not change any of the rules.

Some would argue that a couple who do not have children are MORE committed to eachother as they do not need a child to tie them together. Their mutual love, respect and commitment does that. SOME would argue that children are far too often what keep a failed relationship together even when it is unhealthy for either partner AND especially bad for the child who is witnessing it as an example.

A child is a child - a person on to itself. It is not an excuse, a meal ticket or a magic pill that can fix or cement a relationship.

And last I checked it didn't even take two people to MAKE a baby...they have clinics for that. It takes a very special person to look at a child and say "they are mine" based solely on love. Being an adoptive parent or step-parent is a laudeble thing...the only 'something' extra you may share that dwar49 doesn't is a chromosome or two...

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

If you know so much about how the people at USCIS think, how they feel, what they consider important.....then why, may I ask, did you post here asking if getting pregnant by a USC would be "instant approval"?

I thought I would confirm what I know.

What you know? That people get a little suspicious and testy when someone posts asking about methods of "auto-approval"?

I AM chilled. Didn't accuse anyone of any crimes, either. Although I did have an issue with your statements about adoption; me being adopted and all. Oh, and your assertation that people with kids are more committed or whatever than couples with no kids. But I'm just posting opinions and observations. I haven't accused anyone of anything or gotten "un-chilled"....

In the OP's case....I wouldn't hold your breath. I had a long conversation with a couple (who had their infant with them) while I was in the Kiev consulate waiting on our interview slot. It had been made quite clear to that couple that no preferential treatment would be given. And the facts of their case seemed to bear that out. In fact, having a child actually complicated their case quite a bit as they were trying to get through the interview and paperwork stuff, since they had to take care of the citizenship issue for the child as a prerequisite for continuing their interview sequence. That caused them to make a number of trips between the various offices involved to take care of that issue. A complication that could have been avoided through proper planning on their part, sure..but it showed how the folks in Kiev are sticklers for procedure, and didn't allow that couple to do anything out-of-order for the sake of convenience or expedience.

Some countries might give some kind of preferential treatment, even though it is not official policy to do so. Others follow the book quite strictly. In my experience, Kiev is one of the consulates that are pretty much by-the-book across the board.

Cian you seem a bit angry the op was only asking a question and if you look closely he is new to vj so why not be a bit more considerate and show some restraint.

That was his first post here after being new member for only 10 minutes.

Its not like he is trying to cut in line at the local mcdonalds and get the last hamburger and fries and leave you with none.

He is just asking a valid question that any concerned parent would ask.

This is supposed to be a support forum not a venue for spewing your anger and attitude towards other people.
