I was scheduled for 9 am, arrived at 8:50 am, went through check point then upstairs. I placed my interview notice at the window then at 9:10 I was called in by a very nice and polite officer. In his office he explained me briefly the procedure then I raised my hand and swore to tell only the truth. He asked for my passports (current and the expired one that had my K1 visa), driving license and green card. He checked and compared very closely all the documents for names, numbers and dates match. He did not ask to see the divorce decrees.

Then he went over my entire application by asking each and every field again, I had to give answers that he would compare with what was written on N-400 application.

In the children section I have listed 2 children (one mine and one my husband's from our respective previous marriages) and he made a note on the application that my step child was not mine (born by me) since we have the same last name (me, my husband and his child).

In "Time outside the US" section he literally verified each stamp from my passports and made a check mark on the corresponding trip from the list. I mentioned a trip taken after I submitted the application and he made a note of that.

In the end I signed that my applications has 2 corrections and I am willing to take the oath if my application is approved.

Than I had to read "How many senators are in the Congress?" and write the answer (There are 100 senators).

The officer had a stack papers with 10 questions on each, took one of them and started to ask. He did write down my answers and C (correct) in a special box. I answered correctly the first 6 questions and he said I passed.

My questions:

- What is the name of the national anthem?

- Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

- How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?

- What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?

- What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States?

- What is the "rule of law"?

Than he gave me a paper saying my N-400 is recommended for approval. They do not do same day oaths so in 4-6 weeks I will receive a letter with the exact time and place.

Then we shook hands and at 9:25 am I was out.

Everything went very quick and smooth, I was not asked for any additional proof, but I was prepared with a "conference" bag full of evidence of our bona fide marriage. I guess the officer noticed my heavy bag and I think he was sure I can provide plenty of evidence if asked.

Now waiting for the oath letter.

Does anybody know if on-line status will change and oath date and time will be posted there before I will actually receive the letter?

At this moment my on-line status is still "Testing and Interview".

Thank you.

Congratulations!

I doubt your oath date and time will be published on the site, just that the status is updated to 'Oath'. I don't actually know for sure though because my citizenship status on my on-line status never changed beyond 'application received'. The last I checked which was well after I had taken my oath and got my US passport was that they had still just received my application :D.

Nice review too, btw.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
