thank you.i didn't look there.....:)so the money orders should be made out to uscis as well?

Why is it so difficult to read instructions? All the information you need is there. It says:

"Use the following guidelines when you prepare your check or money order for the Form I-485 and the biometric service fee:

1. The check or money order must be drawn on a bank or other financial institution located in the United States and must be payable in U.S. currency; and

2. Make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security"

unless you live in Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands, which I assume you do not.

The instructions are in English and that may throw some folks for a loop.

I agree, READ the INSTRUCTIONS.

Also USCIS has guidance for how the check should be addresses and how to write out the amount, etc.

NO abbreviations allowed for Payee's name and there is guidance on how to write out the dollar amount.

The address is also there in the instructions.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
