Yes, yes, the problem with sweeping and demeaning generalisations about entire countries of women is the sample size. If only we could know about more women from the FSU, then we could make charts like they do with animals, with all the various species and characteristics.

Spoken like a true drive by, you coulda had an FSU woman (slaps forehead) You don't. Stop trying to make it sound like a bad thing. FSU women rock! I don;t need charts to know and my experience is hardly "limited".

That sounds just like our relationship. Unbelievably smooth, but there were a few things that temporarily became big deals.

One...I found out she really doesn't like Metallica! lol I don't know if anyone else has heard the story that they played Christina Aguilera for like a year in Gunatanomo to try to break terrorists. Finally, they decided to try using Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and terrorists broke down within like a day. Reason being...they thought they were listening to the devil's voice. Apparently, it has the same effect on my wife. She loves Megadeth however but calls them MD because she doesn't like anything to do with death.

Likewise, she HATES any type of horror movie. It makes her crazy! I watch those alone now and save the comedys for us.

In the beginning, she hated that I played video games. Apparently, in Ukraine it's not looked upon favorably and most people that play them don't have jobs, etc. (Ok...maybe that's not so different from the U.S. haha) She eventually realized that's one of my hobbies just like she likes to knit sometimes. But it WAS a big problem in the beginning.

Just showing how different every RUB woman can be. My wife would have no problem with this at all. She appreciates a beautiful woman as much as I do even! Sounds like Alla came around though. ;) I think sometimes there's just some initial shock but after thinking things through a bit, rationality sets in. ,

That, my friend, is what's known as a TRAP! You better have a Kit Kat bar to shove in your mouth when a question like that is asked because there is no good answer! haha But really? 60 months? Are you crazy?! lol Correct answers would be "I'd never get over it!", "Oh! I don't even want to think about it! *act like you are losing it at the very thought*", "A day or so...until I died...because it would kill me.", etc. That's pretty damn funny though....60 months! rofl.gif

Alla appreciates beautiful women, SHE will look at them, SHE will point them out to me, but I can't bring up the subject.

Ok, I am an engineer by training...I appreciate precision, I HATE vague answers. I will have to learn this art, I admit. But she seems to be over that one now. Oh well, I guess it could be really bad stuff and not just how long I would cry if she died.

My wife watches porn with me...so other naked women are not an issue. Ukrainian women must be a lot more insecure and prudish than Russians. I think Russian women understand the true nature of men very well. We're horny bastards. That's why they accept their husbands having lovers under some circumstances and certainly don't fall apart if their man looks at porn or a Playboy fold-out.

As to how long I'd cry if she died? What a completely off the wall question. How can anyone know such a thing? Rendering an answer is completely useless and silly. Who can really say? Russian women are not big on crying men to begin with...and they know what makes a man cry...too much cheap Vodka? From what Ive seen, they seem to prefer the tougher type of man then the "sensitive" types.

Maybe Gary is being a little "creative" with us in the absence of his wife...who seems, more and more, to be the boss in this relationship.

Leave it to VV to try and start trouble, maybe not enough attention paid to him today. Whoever the boss is, is none of your concern. Alla doesn't like men who cry, unless it is over her being dead.

sorry VV, I am not biting today. I had a good week, made a lot of money, (the direct deposit showed up today!) went fishing, took an extra two days off and I think I will take off Monday and Tuesday also. I worked three days this week, a whole 18 hours (in a holiday week) and I deserve a rest. No video games for me here, but I have the green mountains right outside and there is a bunch of good trout streams there. Hmmm. Johnson Brook should do nicely Monday morning.

Yes, yes, the problem with sweeping and demeaning generalisations about entire countries of women is the sample size. If only we could know about more women from the FSU, then we could make charts like they do with animals, with all the various species and characteristics.

I am curious, maybe my RUB forum co-members can answer. Do people married to FSU women EVER go to forums such as UK, Ireland (if they have a forum)Canada and other sub-forums and make derogatory remarks in drive-by posts about their wives/husbands? I mean, why would we? WE have FSU wives, why would we torment people that don't? I hope none of us ever does. There is no need for that.

The entire above post is negated (and exposed for the jealousy that generates it) from serious consideration by the word "demeaning". While we may make generalizations about FSU women, and some generalizations CAN be made (and I have enough experience to say so), I have never seen a "demeaning" generalization of FSU women in this forum. Also "generalizing" means, by definition, that it does not apply to ALL people, that should go without saying by anyone that understands English.

If someone's FSU wife isn't as beautiful, caring, passionate, loving and delightful as they GENERALLY are, then it is a shame. A fluke, an anomoly. But generalizing women to be beautiful, caring, passionate and delightful is in no way demeaning.

I agree. I NEVER do that, mostly because I feel sorry for them.

Well, you do know where you can get a real grateful village girl? Darfur. Oh man do those ladies put out. And are they grateful, Hell Ya! You guys have only scratched the surface of places people would marry mature men of American citizenship to escape their horrid lives.

Yes...village girls are best. The Russian boondocks is where to look for an appreciative wife.

First question you should ask a Russian (FSU) woman is about her toilet facilities as a child. If it was inside, move on.

Generalizing? what is your sample size?

FWIW I find an educated, beautiful, city girl stimulating and interesting, BUT a man has got to know his limitations. A Ukrainian or a Siberian village is a pretty easy act to follow. But maybe I am generalizing

Oh yea! More intelligent drive-by enlightenment. Please go somewhere else and peddle your sour grapes. I am married to a drop dead beautiful FSU woman so you can't ruin my day.

But I did fly over Ireland many times going to and from Ukraine...I just kind of "looked down" on it.

I grew up 12 miles from the nearest paved road and lived on a tiny island in Lake Champlain when I met Alla, a full blown city girl of the first order. I have no trouble handling it. We did move from the tiny islad (which I offered to do before we got married but she wanted to "try it") No problem...it is Vermont, there ARE no big cities. In an hour we can be in downtown Montreal, see the opera, theatre, even ride a subway (yeee-haaaa)then come back home.

There is a certain satisfaction which I probably can't explain, to having a wife with 3 masters degrees that chooses to marry you. Great satisfaction in knowing there is a fully furnished. lighted. maintained and even internet, apartment in Donetsk she could go to but chooses to stay with me. There is confidence in knowing that your wife has enough cash in her desk drawer to buy tickets for her and the kids any time and enough cash to live several months in Ukraine...but leabes it in her desk when she goes for a visit, for a month, by herself...and leaves her children here with one of only two people in the world she would trust with the children.

What does it mean to have a beautiful, educated, capable wife who chooses to be with you when she could easily, at any time, walk out and not so much as need to leave a note? It means a lot. But I may be generalizing.

The Irish and the Darfur tribes do share a common bond...they both seem to enjoy blowing their fellow countrymen up.

You seem to be a RUB forum oddity...YOU are the one who married above your station in life. At least that's how you keep selling it.

If you feel lucky that your wife hasn't walked out on you, you may have some serious self esteem issues to address.

But that would be generalizing. Alla has more education than me, it is true. I don't know if that means "above" one's station. I think there is more to it than that, but perhaps you know better.

I never said I felt lucky she hasn't walked out on me. Why is it necessary for you to change what I say to argue a point? There is no doubt I feel lucky to have met Alla...oh yeah. The chances of us ever meeting were pure blind luck, or fate or whatever you want to call it.

She doesn't walk out on me because I am a good husband, father, provider, and because I am so handsome. Well maybe not so much the handsome part. ;) But I am an all around prize for any woman. No kidding. (how is that for self esteem?) In addition to all that I am like Norm Abrams in the house, can build or fix anything, including our furniture in my well equipped wood shop. PLUS I am a damn good shot, AA in all four guages in skeet and "expert" in Hi-power rifle. And I can catch fish too! I can ski real well and love to take the boys places for fun "guy stuff". The fact is, she COULD financially, and with her capability and education do well on her own.

She has a lot of choices in life and chooses me. She chooses me because I make her life so much more enjoyable. (I really have blown the "self esteem" theory out, haven't I?) Luck has nothing whatever to do with it. I never said I was lucky she stays.
