These are very difficult situations to give advice on because we do not really know what is going on in your personal life.

I can offer this opinion. If you are in danger of harm you should go to a womans shelter and contact police yourself - your safety is the important thing.

You have a green card, the police can do nothing if you leave the house. There is no law that says you cannot. If you are a conditional resident there could be implications when it comes time to apply to remove conditions. It all depends on the circumstance (see previous paragraph).

He has no ammunition to threaten you with... All words and nothing he can do... Dont let him threaten you for no reason and do think thoroughly about it before you go ahead and leave or stay. This decision could alter your future.

First of all, forget the Green Card.

Is your husband still the man you married and that you want to spend the rest of your life with? If so, tell him to get some manners and accept you as his partner, not his slave he can command around. If not, divorce him.

Do you have a 2-year Green Card or a 10-year Green Card? Since when (look at your GC) are you a resident?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

IMO, is an empty threat. He cannot 'cancel all your papers'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

true if you are a gc holder, the threat is empty. whether it's a two year or ten year.

in fact, you can call the cops on him if he forcibly try to make you stay or restrain you.

make sure you keep your gc, passport, and other ids with you at all times and don't let him have it.

hope things work out for you.
