Hi everyone,

We have been married for 2 years now. We sent the I 130 forms and they got approved. now we are waiting to receive the I 864 forms. We are worried about one thing: We dont have a co sponsor, and my wife has been with me since March 2006 (in Australia). She has proof of domicile in the US (like a lease, drivers lisence and bills), and she was working there before she came. but, practically she doesnt work now. We have enough assets to cover the 5-year requirement, so is it ok is she doesnt work?

DOes any one know?

Thanks

Solom

I had a friend who was in a similar situation. They were able to show sizable financial backing in terms of investment assets, bank statements, property, etc to satisfy the needs of I-846

The bottom line is not everyone works for a company. You could be running your personal business out of your home, you could be travelling to :D Australia for this "business", basically the USCIS does not care as long as you show that you have the mullah $$$ $$$ for backing up your spouse.

Good luck!
