AOS? is it approved?

we sent our package to Chi lockbox and on March 16th it was transferred to Ca. Today we recieved text that our case has been updated. When we checked it said something about card being ordered and it will take about 30days. We have not recieved one touch, no interview, nothing. Does this mean that our case is approved? because it is not clear on uscis. Only the tab for production is selected.

Also we did not apply for SSN# when he first arrived. Do we have to still wait on the EAD if the AOS is approved first before he can start applying for employment?

I believe the Green Card has the same function as the EAD. You will have to apply for a social security number and wait a week or two for that to arrive before he can accept employment.

Please fill in your timeline so it can help those of us still waiting.

Just to clarify got message the message of the card being produced is for the AOS appl.

If you got a message that the card is in production for your I-485 then yes, you were approved. Congrats!

Are you SURE it's the I-485? It sounds more like it should be the EAD or something.. I thought the approval kicked in first and THEN the production but I could be wrong. Just double check.

If it IS the greencard then yes you're approved.

Regarding the SSN, you will need to wait until you have the physical EAD or GC as they will need to use that for proof of eligibility.

The GC overrides the EAD and AP. Once you have the GC the other two don't matter so once you have the GC he will need to get a SSN and THEN he can apply for a job.

yes, it was for the GC the EAD is still in review status.

thanks, we are hoping to recieve it soon. just seing here on vj were people are getting up to 3 email from uscis... leaves us waiting and hoping that does not happen to us
