Everything has the possibility of being a grooming-like activity, given the manner in which it is presented. Even things like "I made you an appointment at the dentist because you always forget to do that!" falls into the category if done in such a way that it seems like a nice thing and not a trip to Hades. "Here honey, I made you this delicious sandwich." See? Groomin'.

I think the plus ups don't get used very much as it is, let alone trying to add in gradation. Unless it's a really hot topic (or one about the plus up system), I see most posts with a zero - even good ones.

I saw if you don't have the mental capability to make a dissenting post, then you probably shouldn't be giving a "-1" either.

After all, it turns into a -1 flame fest for some people who cannot comprehend what they are reading.

The whole "-1" thing is a chickenshit way out of publicly voicing your opinion to have it be criticized just the same.
