I recently noticed a post today in a regional forum that really was deserving of a -1. The person posted some advice regarding citizenship that is patently false. People tend to post questions in regional forums that require local expertise and without something to delineate false or poor advice, how are the newbs to know? I understand the problem that having a + / - system presents. When it was first introduced, there were people who were abusing it to give negative marks to people with whom they disliked for personal reasons. However, there are real reasons for giving people a minus. I would think if you made ratings public, in the same manner that public polls are made, people would be less apt to give a mark that was unjustified.
