Then, on the member's profile page, list all who voted to ban that member that month. At the end of the month, if the member survives the mod council, the slate gets wiped clean, and we start the thing over again.

Here's a nice twist for ya -

NO ONE can have ability to issue a -1 tag

UNLESS

they answer 10 questions in the Immigration portion of this online web portal.

Then it rolls - for every 10 questions answered, ya get to use a -1 vote somewhere on the forums.

What are your thoughts?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

That should confuse the newbies with even more out of date information. That reminds me. I have to start paying attention to the N-400 forum. The wife is getting close to her three years being legal.

Apparently there's a load of 'you guyz' that know how to read and use the google - so it'll be easy to update yer personal knowledge base as yer helping out the noobz. Easy Peasy - and if yer wrong, it's ok - your answer will be refactored by other helpers.

I feel certain this will go a long way to appeasing 'the need' and 'use' of the -1 rating - make you 'pay' for 'play'.

I like it, I really do.

Why not appreciate that some of us are more interested in participating in the non-visa elements of this website, or that some of us give out advice that is very useful but only in the regionals? How would you track regional-specific info? Do we need to track every post, and weigh whether or not what it said was helpful? Or can we just all agree that we need the -1 back, at least in upper fora?

I've posited one solution - you've put in yours - lets see where it all falls into place?

Probably nowhere.

Just like all the other suggestions.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

FWIW, I oppose both +1 and -1. The reason stems from a management perspective, in that often times managers will provide a rating on a subordinate, without the requisite "written" rationale to support that rating. This is totally unfair. Obviously the parameters are unique here, but the rationale is the same.

This is especially important in the upper forums, in that bad advice could receive 10/+1 ratings, leading the OP down the wrong path.

If the site required supportive text on the ratings, I would be 100% behind both + and -.

The supportive text would need to be visible to readers or be otherwise subject to oversight/QA.
