TO BRING TO INTERVIEW:

Curious to know if anyone has, or if its possible to use a Priority Next A.M. Envelope rather than a Xpresspost Envelope?

2/7/13 mailed I130 x 2

2/14/13 checks cashed $420 x 2

4/3/13 RFE more divorce info requested and marriage certificate(which I had already sent)

4/9/13 mailed additional info

4/19/13 I130 approved

5/10/13 NVC received

5/16/13 Called NVC and got Case #s and Invoice ID #s

5/17/13 USCIS website states: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

5/24/13 Paid AOS ($88.00) fee online

5/30/13 Emailed I-864 package for both kids

6/3/13 paid IV bill $230 x 2 kids

6/5/13 IV bill shows paid, DS260 available

6/14/13 CHILDREN'S PASSPORTS ARRIVED!!!!

6/14/13 filed online DS-260 for both kids

6/16/13 emailed Supporting docs for DS-260 for both kids

7/9/13 CHECKLIST for both kids...sad.png

7/9/13 checklist response sent (birth certs and passport Bio Page <again>)

8/2/13 CHECKLIST both kids

8/3/13 checklist response sent (I-864 AGAIN and paystubs - sent last 6 paystubs)

8/28/13 ***** INTERVIEW SCHEDULED***** for 10/9/13

9/11/13 Medicals completed in Toronto @ Dr. Seiden's office

10/9/13 INTERVIEW APPROVED

10/25/13. SSN cards arrived

Good question, I wonder this also! I may have to try and exchange my regular Xpresspost envelope if this is possible, as I already purchased it!!

I am pretty sure that there have been people who have used this, as long as it is the correct size. Just note that because it is next day delivery you may not get your package the next day as it takes montreal a few days to print and affix the visa in the passport, then it is sent to the mailroom to be sent to Canada post. Once it gets to Canada Post it *should* be next day delivery, but that doesn't always happen!!

Exactly what Collen stated--you could have a FIVE minute envelope, but doesn't much better, as it ain't gouing to speed up Mtl in mailing it out,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Depending on where you live the Xpresspost envelope will probably get to you within one day of being accepted by the post office. Getting to the post office is totally up to the people in the Consulate and I think things sit in the mail room for awhile.

I lived out in the stick on the opposite side of Canada to where montreal is, and I got mine within 2 days of the visa being printed...It was just a regular express post envelope.
