time from card production to physical card?

i got updated on case tracking that on May 11th they ordered production of new green card. i got approved on May 5th.

when will i get the physical green card in the mail??? approximately??? since i plan to leave overseas on May 24th.

I was approved the 22nd of April, Card Production was ordered the 26th, and I got my card in the mail May 1st. My card came from CSC, and I live in California, so that would have made it come slightly faster in the mail.

EDIT - If you already have AP, you can leave the country without your green card and be ok.

Ours took weeks, maybe even two months. I got the notice that production was ordered, but we had to go back to the USCIS field office when it didn't appear. The phone reps were no help at all (big surprise), and told us that the card was probably lost in the mail. It took the field office two minutes to discover that the notice was sent, but no one ever pushed the button to actually order the card. Three weeks later, or thereabout, the card arrived, but my wife was already in Europe on AP. I took her the GC when I joined her later.

There are usually 3 notices. One for approval, one for ordering the card, and a third for card sent in the mail. They send it USPS from Missouri, so probably 4+ days to arrive in most places in the US.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

well i don't have the email setup with uscis. i get updated on uscis case status that on may 5th i got approved, then on may 11th for card production...i don't believe that they have an update to when they actually mail the card...not sure though

If you register for contact via mobile phone and/or email you will be surprised how quickly they update you. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of incoming messages vs seeing ''nothing'' online (nothing meaning 'not moving fast enough for my liking'). :innocent:

We had our interview on April 27th..got the approval email on the same day...received the welcome letter on May 4...Production card ordered on May 11th......and no GC until now.....so frustrating!! :bonk:

My card production was order May 4th and got it yesterday (May 20th). There seemed to be a delay for lots of folks with the new cards - they seemed to halt production for a little while getting it set up because a lot of people got the 2nd card production order on may 11th when the new cards were introduced. i think the new cards finally started getting mailed out a day or two ago.

AOS (from tourist w/overstay)

1/26/10 - NOA

5/04/10 - interview appt - approved

ROC

2/06/12 - NOA date

7/31/12 - card production ordered

N-400

2/08/13 - NOA date

3/05/13 - biometrics appt

6/18/13 - interview - passed!
