Not sure if someone has experienced the same thing... here goes-

my husband is petitioning me and our 3 year old son under IR-1

we just received the visa fee request (invoice) in the email today but only for our son. i've sent both of our ds-3032 together in one packet.

would it be possible for nvc to have misplaced my ds-3032 or should we be expecting the visa fee request for myself in the next few days?

thanks!!!

If you have a son together, it is inappropriate to file for a green card. Your son would be a US Citizen by the virtue of his parenthood. I would not pay your son's bill and withdraw his petition, and instead file for citizen birth abroad for him. You may be required to submit DNA tests to prove his father was a USC.

is that still possible? my husband became citizen when our son was three.

we are almost done with the I-130 so applying for a citizen birth abroad could lengthen our time apart :(

Oh, no, it's not. You can't pass citizen you didn't have, and you have to be a citizen for some time before you can pass it on :)

no worries. we'll just apply for N-600 for our son when we get there.

still worried though why the IV Fee Bill did not arrive at the same time
