Have you ever been charged, arrested or convicted of any offense or crime? (If answer is Yes, please explain)

Hello,

Here is the quesiton 41 of form ds 230 that I have to answer too for the green card applicatio. The problem is I dont really know what to answer.

I had one problem once with a police officer but I dont know if I was arrested.

I was intoxicated on my campus, in a residence, and was being too loud and annoying for people at the entrance. A security guard called the police and since I was really drunk, the police officers took me home and reported me to the university the next day.

I was not handcuffed, not taken to the police station, not fingerprinted, no mugshot, not called to appear before a court or anything. The police just took me home and told me it was not good.

However, I got a sort of disciplinary measure taken by the University which put me on probabtion for a semester, asked me to do a 5hours class about alchool and pay a $50 fine to the university.

My question is: Have I been arrested ?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Technically no if you didn't go before a judge and no charges were brought by the local municipality.

The university apparently had an agreement with the municipality to handle first-timers in the way

you described. If charges weren't filed in a court, technically you weren't arrested.

They took you home, not into custody.
