Hallo

Wie geht's ihnen!?

I'm not from Germany but I still want to help.

I think you should get a certified translation, just like what you will do with the birth certificate, you just get someone to translate it and sign a paper that basically say he is capable of translating truly and accurately.

When the embassy contact you it should tell you if you should or shouldn't translate them, but I'm guessing you should (For AOS at least)

Glück :)

And you don't need to get your birth certificate translated, travelbugs, because Germany has an international version which costs the same as the regular one.

@ junita: your post is implying that she she should get a translation of the police certificate, because she needs it for AOS. And it never hurts to read the guides.

German police certification for interview in Frankfurt does not require translation (as others have said).

The tip of obtaining an international BC is a good one (it, or a translation, will be needed for AOS) - that's what both Karin and I did and we're glad we did . :star:

Exactly. Thank you Otto&Karin.

Make sure you don't lose the BC translation, I know a couple who did and know going through hell to replace it. Translating in the US would rare and expensive.

Whether you need to translate it, or there is already an international translation, it must be in English, that's what I meant really (How you get it turned into English doesn't matter, it's a country by country basis)
