I am curious about what documents are required to show me and my wife are legitimately married and still together? A joint checking account is a headache because of SSN. Can I get a Library card? Wedding photos? It's very difficult to get anything set-up with an account without a SSN and I cannot get a SSN without her GC (we are not filing EAD). What if I cannot get her on my account, which I cannot, will her AOS be denied? What is critical evidence they need to see at her interview?

What bank will not allow you to set up a joint account without an SSN number?

Most banks will, not only allow you to have a joint account, but will allow the non USC to open their own account. The banks want new business. Yes, they ask for a lot more information now than they used to, but it can be done.

I not sure that a joint bank account is critical for your AOS, but if you want one, you can definitely get one.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

If you don't have a joint account does not mean that your case will be denied. You may want to refer to other documents that shows your life together such as:

-Lease Agreement

-Joint credit card accounts

-Life and medical insurance

-Car insurance

-Emails, Cards, and pictures

-Tickets of travel you took together

-Joint utility bills

-Joint ownership documents

-Joint Tax documents

Hopefully this helps

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that K-1 's can get a SSN. Doesnt it say that in the guides somewhere? Even if you do not apply for EAD?
