Yeah, it's weird -- they kept my new joint sponsor's documents (tax, account statement etc) and the old one's 2008 and 2009 tax information along with the I864.

So I'm confused. Maybe USCIS/Consulate could clear this up for me just so I can let the interested parties know.

The actual interview was a breeze. The pre-screener asked a bunch of questions although she strangely enough, seemed to answer most of them herself.

For example, "What does the joint sponsor's wife do?" -- and before I could say anything -- "Oh, I see she's a chemist. How nice!"

Or, "Did you have a Hindu wedding?" -- and before I could respond with an appropriate answer -- she said, "Oh, I see you got married under the Special Marriage Act! Well, it doesn't matter, I suppose, I don't think they (the American COs?) care so much about religious/traditional weddings as such."

I was like, whatever you say, lady.

She asked a bunch of questions but she didn't really seem interested in them. She was organizing the papers, stapling them etc., asking the same question a bunch of times which conveyed the impression that she wasn't really paying attention to what I was saying. Some of the questions (Is he of Indian-American origin, for example) made me think she hadn't even reviewed our file before I walked into the booth. When she showed me the pictures I sent in with the original I-130, I was like, ah, she knows, she's just waiting to see if I trip up on something. For example, she asked Mr. Sachinky's name three times and kept asking if he was in college in India and if we met there. I was like, huh, no, where did you get that from?

It was like a confusing conversation with your old forgetful grandmother who keeps asking you, "have you eaten lunch today, dear?"

hahhaha!!!

well despite all the stress at the time it is really funny to think about it now!!

i am just worried that my poor man is gonna get all tripped up and nervous and say a wrong date or year or something. his english isn't that great! but they do get a japanese person to come and ask the questions if the person really doesn't understand anything and they still get their visas!! hehe

just 10 more days!!!!
