I have a major problem.

I married a tico & we live in the USA. He has a 10yr daughter in Costa Rica. We tried 3 times-applied for a visa for her to visit us.

All 3 times the answer was no. The first time she went with her mother, the 2nd time I went-but our VP was in costa rica and they closed the streets and embassy, we had to reschedule-so she went alone with her mother(i had to get back to work). The 3rd time we all went together, my husband, his daughter, his ex & myself. (My husband is not a citizen of the USA.) The guy at the embassy only talked to me in English, and spoke only a few words to my husband. Did not speak to my step-daughters mother.. I thought that was so rude, etc. I did not expect them to talk to me at all, I am not her mother.. Anyway, we have been spending a lot of money.

We just want her to be able to come for 2-3wks a year, when she is on vacation. We do not want her to live with us, we do not want to take her away from her mother. thanks...

It sounds like she's been denied a tourist visa 3 times - surely they gave you a reason for those denials, right? So - what is your question for us? I don't think there's anything we can pull out of our hats to help really - my guess is they suspect she has immigrant intent with her having a parent residing in the US. That'll be hard to overcome.
