Hi,

I don't have a birth certificate... All I have is a notarized form of my birth, produced when I was a teenager (with my teen picture on it too), with my parents' name and my birth date and place. And I only have a copy of it since I misplaced the original. I have been using it to file AOS from work and from marriage, so far so good. But I just saw that I need to bring the original to the interview. Is that true?? Man.. What do I do...??!!

Thank you

First, congratulations on receiving the interview letter!!

Regarding original birth certificate I read that it all depends on IO. Some of them don't care but for others it can be a major thing for approval.

I really hope you will be lucky but I would start trying to replace it somehow. Ask your parents to look for it, may be they forgot where is it.

I agree with Alla. It all depends on the IO. I didn't have my BC with me since when I was born, Birth records weren't really cared for, in our country. I presented an official document that we use back home for school admissions and National ID cards and the IO seemed OK with he. He said he knew how it was in our countries and Birth records mostly presented were fakes. :) Any official Document alongwith your school/college certificates and Passport should be acceptable unless the IO wants to give you a tough time. Good Luck.
