What I want to know is why they had a dog (or dogs) guarding priceless toys in the first place... dogs are notorious for destroying things like that...

It is true, dogs do tend to chew on toys!

Perhaps there was a 5 million dollar insurance policy on it?

I didn't see the news report last week, but a lady I work with told me the dog was a recommendation from the insurance company of all places. Then again she told me the news reported it was a labrador, which I found really funny. Either way the story goes, how stupid to put a dog in with stuffed toys!

A security guard at the museum, Greg West, said he spent several minutes chasing Barney before wrestling the dog to the ground.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/08/0...r.ap/index.html Oh that is funny! Poor security guard, not being trusted to do his job well enough! Seems it was a Doberman, but still.........why put a dog with stuffed animals? lmao

Stuffing the dog would be a fitting punishment.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Well, as a museum professional, I have seen or heard about objects destroyed in all sorts of ways - but this is a first! Thankfully we have only humans on our security staff and so far none of them has tried to eat our collection

Yes he does, but the lady who told me he was a lab should know better! She works in the kennel with me, had to hurt her feelings yesterday and tell her it wasn't a chocolate lab at all! She has a 90lb chocolate lab so life is lab this lab that lol.

Barney is just cute! You can tell Barney had one hell of a time, I find it amusing. My husband said this was like putting a drug addict in a pharmaceutical company!
