I know I have to take the medical records for the major surgeries I've had. I've had 2 of them, one of which I have the Operative Report for already, but the other was done while I was living in the states and they are giving me greif. I ended up having my tonsils taken out because I kept getting strep throat. Anyone know if the doc in Van considers that a major surgery? I know there are a few exceptions. Thanks.

You should be fine. At the medicals they are looking at if the person has a communicable disease (ie.TB) or has a medical condition that is not documented (ie.high blood pressure), has gone untreaed or is not stable. For the tonsils, it is a common procedure for them to be removed. They may ask when they were taken out, but prolly not. THey would be more concerned if they were still in place and inflammed. Just take the documents that you have and wait to see if they even ask about the tonsils. If they do, tell them that you could not obtain the documents, but that you can give them the name of the hospital where the procedure was performed. That way, they could call and verify if they choose to.

Hope this helps, and no need to worry. I had mine and I have a heart murmur and could not obtain the documents to state that it was begnin. So I told the Dr. which hospital and procedures were given to me, and he was content with that.

I don't know that they'll do more then ask about them. I don;t even rememebr them asking about the 1 surgery I've had. I was 5 and had plastic surgery on one of the my ears.....30 yrs later it was kind of irrelavant.

You should know the dates and the details, but I don't know that additional documentation is needed.
