Hi all,

i had my CR-1 visa interview on 14 may 2010, got finger printed and the counslar officer returned my original birth certificate and original marriage certificate. She asked me to sign DS 230-part 2 in front of her. Then she asked where in US my wife lives. Then she asked when i planned to move to US, to which I answered as soon they give me visa, i shall make my travel plan. Then she asked me what I am gonna do in US? to which I told I would be seeking role in mechanical engineering industry. She asked whether I had my CV, I told her I didnot have it with me right now. (They never told me to bring a CV to visa interview!) Then the counslar officer gave me a blue letter saying i am put in Administrative processing and Asked me to FAX my CV to a number she wrote on back of this blue letter. But she kept my passport.

HUH...... so guys any Idea what the hell should I take from this?? I am so sad now as I knew people are put in AP but being in AP myself feels so bad.

what should I do now or how long should i wait and what could happen next and when?? anyone with any ideas please help..

There is nothing to worry about.. They might want to confirm your biographical information with that..

Since they kept your passport.. (I think) It indicates that your visa will be approved very soon.

My advise is to you is that when you fax your CV, Keep all the information same which you gave earlier ( like your previous employers, dates, place of residing in last five year etc. etc.)

wish you a good luck.

VFS did advise me to carry my CV and educational qualifications to my interview.

I carried everything I could possibly think of, had nearly 10 lbs of evidence and the CO didn't ask to see one damn thing but I think it's always better to be over prepared than under!

Hope your AP is resolved soon! Keep us posted, and hang in there!

thanks for that. I am really curious as they told me that they would contact me, if they do contact me saying your AP is complete and visa is approved then how can they send the visa through courier when I have not paid the courier fees on the interview day !! (they told me not to pay courier fees) are they going to send the passport with stamp through courier or do i have to go there and collect it??

Your interview sounds almost identical to mine - all apart from being given the blue slip and being asked for a CV. I do hope that when you fax it to them you will indeed get your visa

What I don't understand though, is why anyone would be asked for their CV in the first place - we're all applying for 'family' visas, not work, so why would our CVs be relevant? What if someone had never worked, would that count against them?

Mind you, if submitting my CV meant I was out of AP, I'd be only too happy to do so

Good luck, addgelcat - let us know what happens

You're a CR-1 going through Mumbai. You must've paid your DHL fees (400/- approx.) at VFS before your interview.

The Consulate will most likely contact you via email or phone in order to inform you when your AP is over.

You can also track your case status at DOS, I believe.

Got it, Darnell.

Ignore previous posts regarding VFS.

You mentioned that you're an Indian citizen WORKING in the U.K.--quite possible that they would ask you to produce your CV even though you're applying for a family based visa.

I studied in the U.S. for four years, therefore, I took all my scholarship letters, transcripts, degree, I-20. Everything I could possibly think of even though I was applying for a CR-1.

Have you faxed your CV yet?

I have faxed my CV to the counslate. To clear the confusion, I was interviewd in US embassy, london as I am in UK under full time work permit and I am an indian national. To be honest, what are they gonna verify from my CV? my educational details?? they already have them in DS 230 part 1. I dont know what they are up to!!
